Welcome to this week in home video!<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pick_of_the_Week\"><\/span>Pick of the Week<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Hunt\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Hunt\" height=\"251\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/the-hunt.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>The Hunt<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p> <strong>What is it?<\/strong> Twelve strangers awake to find they\u2019re being hunted by Liberal elites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> It seems like ages ago now, but for a while there this movie was the most controversial thing in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>. It all faded once people saw the film and realized it\u2019s a comedy targeting nearly everyone on the political spectrum, and that\u2019s for the best. The movie is terrific fun with some stellar action and kills running alongside some big laughs and far from subtle skewering. It\u2019s ultimately fairly harmless as its wide blast radius lessens its bite, but that\u2019s to the movie\u2019s benefit and makes for a more broadly entertaining romp.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: Featurettes]<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Best\"><\/span>The Best<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cannery_Row_Warner_Archive\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cannery Row\" height=\"256\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cannery-row.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>Cannery Row [Warner Archive]<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> John Steinbeck\u2019s classic comes to life on the screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> Most students read <em>The Grapes of Wrath<\/em> over this Steinbeck novel (or its sequel), and that makes sense as it\u2019s perhaps more relevant to the American journey, but this tale is equally telling about the culture, history, and character of this country. Nick Nolte and Debra Winger take the lead here, and they\u2019re as great as ever as two obstinate personalities trying to make their way their own way and bumping into each along the way. Monterey, CA has changed dramatically since the film\u2019s period (and since its filming), but it\u2019s a beautiful place with a dense history captured in part here.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: None]<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Victor_and_Victoria\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Victor And Victoria\" height=\"239\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/victor-and-victoria.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>Victor and Victoria<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> A female actor pretending to be a man finds her life complicated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> Most people know Blake Edwards\u2019 1982 remake with Julie Andrews, but this original is every bit as entertaining. Sure it\u2019s a bit less saucy \u2014 it\u2019s from 1933 people! \u2014 but the story, misunderstandings, banter, and romantic comedy remain. We still get plenty of fast talking and quick moving story shenanigans too. It\u2019s a fun look into history, which might just be what the doctor ordered these days.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: Commentary]<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"We_Summon_the_Darkness\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"We Summon The Darkness\" height=\"234\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/we-summon-the-darkness.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>We Summon the Darkness<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> Three friends are caught up in the \u201cSatanic Panic\u201d of the 80s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> This is a delightful little slasher\/comedy with sharp writing, bloody action, and some truly entertaining performances. The central story turns might not hit every viewer as a surprise, but even when you know what\u2019s coming the film still manages to be a lot of fun. Alexandra Daddario and Maddie Hasson are especially good here.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: Featurette, commentary]<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Rest\"><\/span>The Rest<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Deadly_Place_%E2%80%93_10_Frightening_Films\"><\/span>A Deadly Place \u2013 10 Frightening Films<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> A collection of ten horror films.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> Any collection that includes 1977\u2019s <em>Day of the Animals<\/em> can\u2019t be all bad, and that\u2019s where this one lands. The rest of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> will probably be fairly new to most viewers and feature some familiar faces including Fred Ward, Meg Foster, and Catherine Bach \u2014 hell, Norman Fell stars in two of them! \u2014 but while there are some miscellaneous thrills to be had the bulk of the movies are on here for a reason. Tread <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriately.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: None]<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_H_Man_Battle_in_Outer_Space\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The H Man\" height=\"247\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/the-h-man.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>The H Man \/ Battle in Outer Space<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> Two films from Ishiro Honda.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> <em>The H Man<\/em> sees a poor sap turned into a monster after being exposed to nuclear radiation, and soon he\u2019s turning others into goop. There are some cool (but cheap) genre beats here as the sci-fi\/horror elements take center stage, but there\u2019s also a lot of down time. Still, it\u2019s an intriguing commentary all the same. <em>Battle in Outer Space<\/em> is more straightforward sci-fi with plenty of space battles \u2014 duh \u2014 particularly in its back half. The effects are obviously dated, but they work through a combination of miniatures, optical work, and pacing.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: Japanese and US versions of both, commentary]<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sweating_Bullets_%E2%80%93_10_Action_Films\"><\/span>Sweating Bullets \u2013 10 Action Films<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> A collection of ten action movies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> Like the horror collection above, this is a set of mostly disposable action movies \u2014 the bulk from the 90s \u2014 but there\u2019s fun to be had for fans. Known actors including Sandra Bullock, Mickey Rourke, Steve Buscemi, and Anthony Michael Hall are here alongside generic titles like <em>Fatal Combat<\/em>, <em>Fugitive Rage<\/em>, <em>Maximum Revenge<\/em>, and <em>Rapid Assault<\/em>. They\u2019re late-night cable fare, and that\u2019s not a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>[Extras: None]<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"White_Crane_Chronicles\"><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"White Crane Chronicles\" height=\"247\"  src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/white-crane-chronicles.jpg\"  width=\"195\"><\/img>White Crane Chronicles<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong> Kung Fu Killer and its sequel under one roof.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why see it?<\/strong> The reuniting of David Carradine and Daryl Hannah is the main draw in these films, and if that\u2019s not enough for you there\u2019s really not much else. There\u2019s action and intrigue, to be sure, but underwhelming choreography and a television movie budget don\u2019t help matters.
