noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-york\/southampton\/dad-2-girls-lost-fire-finds-strength-lives-defined-joy\">suffering serious health issues<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> was already bittersweet \u2014 but it became a hellscape when the family awoke at 3 a.m. to the rear of the home engulfed in flames.  <\/p>\n<p>Jillian, a senior at the University of Michigan, and Lindsay, a freshman at Tulane, never made it out, leaving their parents \u201cbroken\u201d and their brother \u201chaunted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The family later learned the home\u2019s outdoor kitchen, which they had tried to use in the hours before the fire, had never been inspected; the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms weren\u2019t working, and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easthamptonstar.com\/police-courts\/202291\/after-fatal-fire-58-charges-homeowners\">the home had multiple violations from the town of Southampton<\/a>, according to court vacationers rent residential properties. HomeAway sent the family an email stating the owner of the Spring Lane house said there were smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit, among other safety features, the suit says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is as reckless a situation as you can find,\u201d said the family\u2019s attorney, Andres Alonso. \u201cThis didn\u2019t need to h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en and it happened because everyone decided they were going to take shortcuts.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for VRBO, which owns HomeAway, declined comment on the litigation.
