Tuner apps can be expensive, and forgetting your physical tuner at home is the last thing you need when you\u2019re about to start a gig. The free Google Guitar Tuner is a search away in your browser and can work well in a pinch.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Find_Google_Guitar_Tuner\"><\/span>How to Find Google Guitar Tuner<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To access the Google tuner, start by opening your browser. We tested using both Safari and Chrome. Navigate to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/\">the Google search page<\/a>, type\u00a0<code>google guitar tuner<\/code>\u00a0into the search bar, and click or tap the search button. In this case, we\u2019re tuning the low E string (in EADGBE standard tuning), and the Google Guitar Tuner shows we\u2019re a little off from there. In other words, it will tune to any note in Western music notation. At the time of writing, there\u2019s no option to set it to specific guitar tunings, so you\u2019ll have to know which note you want to tune and whether it\u2019s higher or lower than the currently displayed note.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Accurate_Is_Google_Guitar_Tuner\"><\/span>How Accurate Is Google Guitar Tuner?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may wonder if you can trust the Google tuner to tune accurately. In practice, the microphone quality in your device might affect how accurate the tuner app is. But since it\u2019s listening for a simple frequency, it should work correctly on just about any device.<\/p>\n<p>We used Google Tuner alongside the popular <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/yousician.com\/guitartuna\">GuitarTuna<\/a> app, the built-in tuner in an acoustic guitar, and an integrated tuner in a multi-effects pedal. They all returned precisely the same result as Google\u2019s tuner applet, so we\u2019re confident it will work well enough for all but the most discerning musicians.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve got your guitar in tune, why not put the word \u201cmetronome\u201d into Google for their metronome applet?
