Kathy Hochul\u2019s re-election bid \u2014 and blunted the the Republican Party\u2019s widely anticipated \u201cred wave,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/11\/26\/westchester-democratic-firewall-new-york-midterm-results-00070553\">Politico reported  Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWestchester is almost becoming the sixth borough,\u201d former Republican county executive Rob Astorino said. \u201cIt\u2019s becoming an extension, in some ways, of Manhattan.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Current County Executive George Latimer, the Democrat who defeated Astorino in 2017, agreed that the county\u2019s electorate is now \u201ccompletely different.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/hochul-biden-221126-96.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Westchester is cited as one of the areas that pushed Hochul to the win. \" class=\"wp-image-24799930\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/hochul-biden-221126-96.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/hochul-biden-221126-96.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/hochul-biden-221126-96.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Gov.
