Gen. Patrick Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, told the Washington Post that there are practical limitations in monitoring the shipments, noting that they are performed \u201cwhen and where security conditions permit\u201d but do not take place \u201cnear the front line of Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), likely to be the House speaker when the House convenes after the first of the year in Republican control, has warned the Biden administration that there will be no \u201cblank check\u201d for Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/ukraine-military-aid-221127-73.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the conservative firebrand from Georgia, and a handful of Republicans unveiled a resolution this month for an audit of the funds Congress has allocated for Ukraine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said she would reintroduce the resolution when Republicans take over the chamber.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll introduce this resolution again, but I\u2019ll also be calling for a full audit. We voted \u2018no\u2019 to send money over there, but we\u2019re also going to audit what\u2019s h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening in Ukraine,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?524346-1\/house-republicans-seek-audit-ukraine-funding\">she said at a Capitol Hill<\/a> news conference.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/ukraine-military-aid-221127-64.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Rep. Michael McCaul, the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said he believes there is GOP House support for continued aid to Ukraine, but with conditions for accountability when asked\u00a0about McCarthy\u2019s \u201cblank check\u201d comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the majorities on both sides of the aisle support this effort. I think, you know, everybody has a voice in Congress. You know, and the fact is, we are going to provide more oversight, transparency and accountability. We\u2019re not going to write a blank check,\u201d McCaul of Texas said on<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ThisWeekABC\/status\/1596878157751066625\"> ABC News\u2019 \u201cThis Week.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a voice now and we\u2019re going to do this in an accountable way, with transparency to the American people. Mike Turner, the ranking Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee, said he \u200bpersonally reassured Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky that there will be continued bipartisan support once the Republicans control the House.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u200bBut the funding will no longer have to be included in \u201cDemocrat bills.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t need to pass $40 billion large Democrat bills\u00a0\u200b\u2026\u00a0to send $8 billion to Ukraine\u200b,\u201d he said on \u201cThis Week.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019re going to do\u00a0\u200b-\u00a0and it\u2019s been very frustrating, obviously, even to the Ukrainians where they hear these large numbers in the United States as a result of the\u200b \u200bburgeoned Democrat bills and the little amount of aid that they receive. Mike Waltz, told the Washington Post that the level of oversight that exists now is not sufficient.\u00a0\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u200bWith the volumes of goods that we\u2019re pushing, it\u2019s our responsibility to have third-party oversight. We do it all over the world,\u201d Waltz (R-Fla.) told the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>Waltz said he believes as do other lawmakers that the US must continue to support Ukraine militarily but worries that the Biden administration is fearful of using Americans to keep an eye on how Ukraine is using the weapons.<\/p>\n<p>He suggested using US veterans who are on the ground in Ukraine as subcontractors to report to the State Department and the Pentagon on the deployment of US weapons near the front.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), a former Army Ranger, pushed the House Armed Services Committee to include instructions in the defense bill for auditing and reviewing the Pentagon\u2019s shipments to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe taxpayers deserve to know that investment is going where it\u200b\u2019s intended to go,\u201d he told the Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>But he acknowledged that \u201cthere can be missteps and misallocation of supplies\u201d during\u00a0wartime and brushed\u00a0off suggestions that the Biden administration was too lax. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not playing a mission of perfection here. This is a brutal, large-scale land war \u2014 house to house, street to street, trench to trench.
