To replace turbine-driven airliners with similarly-sized electric aircraft will require a monumental leap in battery <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> \u2014 and we\u2019re simply not there yet.<\/p>\n<p>So how can we make aviation sustainable?<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ati.org.uk\/news\/first-generation-of-zero-carbon-emission-aircraft-needs-hydrogen-technologies-by-2025\/\">studies<\/a> by the UK\u2019s Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), aviation can achieve the net-zero 2050 target through the development of both <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icao.int\/environmental-protection\/pages\/SAF.aspx\">sustainable aviation fuel<\/a> (SAF) and green liquid hydrogen technologies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inarticle-wrapper channel-cta\">\n<div class=\"ica-text\">\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Join_TNW_in_Valencia\"><\/span>Join TNW in Valencia!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The heart of tech is coming to the heart of the Mediterranean<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>They also highlight that green liquid hydrogen is the optimum fuel for the first generation of zero-emission aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>As per the ATI, targeted investment in the technology could help the UK grow its market share in civil aerospace from 12% today to 19% by 2050. strategies Rolls Royce and easyJet have entered into a multi-million-pound partnership aiming to prove that hydrogen could be a zero carbon aviation fuel of the future.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the companies <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mediacentre.easyjet.com\/story\/15627\/rolls-royce-and-easyjet-set-new-aviation-world-first-with-successful-hydrogen-engine-run\">unveiled<\/a> the results of the first ground test they conducted on an early concept demonstrator, claimed to be \u201cthe world\u2019s first\u201d run of a modern aero engine on hydrogen.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"post-image post-mediaBleed took place at an outdoor facility in the UK using a converted Rolls-Royce AE 2100-A regional aircraft engine. The green hydrogen for the tests was created by wind and tidal power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe success of this hydrogen test is an exciting milestone.
