\n The US Postal Service announced Friday it has launched a new website to help Americans navigate mail-in voting.<\/p>\n

The new page offers general \u201cFAQ\u201d information, guidance for finding states election websites and other helpful links.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Postal Service recognizes that many states are choosing to expand mail-in voting options in the upcoming elections and that there will likely be a significant increase in demand among postal customers to participate in those elections by using the mail,\u201d the agency wrote in a news<\/a> release.<\/p>\n

The site comes in the midst of a service crisis and as President Trump, along with his postmaster general, Louis DeJoy, face increasing outrage over USPS management.<\/p>\n

Trump has railed repeatedly against mail-in voting, claiming it would create the most \u201cfraudulent\u201d presidential election in US history.<\/p>\n

He has said he\u2019s withholding additional funding Democrats have asked for the postal service to make widespread mail-in voting during the pandemic unfeasible.<\/p>\n

DeJoy, who took office in May, testified in front of a Senate committee Friday, and denied widespread criticism that he has removed mailboxes, cut overtime and withdrawn mail-sorting machines in an attempt hinder mass mail-in ballots.<\/p>\n

DeJoy acknowledged reports that mail delivery times have declined, but blamed the service slowdown on the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

He said the USPS would prioritize ballots over first-class mail to make sure they reach election officials on time.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur employees are experiencing the COVID pandemic also,\u201d DeJoy testified, \u201cand we have a significant issue in employee availability in many, many parts of the country that are leading to delays in delivery of mail.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
