And, no, that\u2019s not just because riders are returning: Violent crime (including three murders) was up 45% last month over October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s great that Gov. Kathy Hochul has the state funding NYPD overtime to put more cops in the transit system \u2014 but that\u2019s a stopgap measure, since OT is inherently limited.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, the subway crime wave is part of <em>overall<\/em> soaring city crime, which NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell\u00a0warned again on Monday is spurred by the state\u2019s botched criminal-justice reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, an earlier \u201creform\u201d also plagues the subways: then-District Attorney Cy Vance\u2019s 2018 decision to stop prosecuting most farebeating cases, a policy later adopted by other DAs. As we warned then and since, this opened the door to far greater lawlessness underground: Once you break the rules to enter the system, you\u2019re likely to break bigger rules inside it.<\/p>\n<p>H<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ily, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/new.mta.info\/document\/36821\">new MTA Code of Conduct<\/a> \u2014 fully endorsed by Mayor Eric Adams \u2014 includes independent fines for farebeating as well as for lingering over an hour in stations and other trademark vagrant behavior.
