Kathy Hochul \u2014  causing chaos for patients and medical workers, sources said Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Patients from Brookdale, Interfaith and Kingsbrook Jewish hospitals \u2014 part of the One Brooklyn Health System \u2014 have had to seek treatment at other hospitals amid the cybersecurity mess, which has left medical staffers unable to access patient records, sources told\u00a0The Post. <\/p>\n<p>The IT crash \u2014 which was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2022\/11\/25\/23478350\/one-brooklyn-health-system-offline-kingsbrook-brookdale-interfaith-hospitals\">first reported by The City<\/a> \u2014 is also a potential security risk for patients\u2019 private data, said an industry source, who also blasted state officials for failing to im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely step in and organize a plan to fix the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA major safety-net hospital system in Brooklyn that receives huge subsidies from the State loses its IT systems and is unable to access patient medical records, laboratory results, etc.\u00a0 And this has been going on for a week,\u201d the source said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/brooklyn-computer-crashes-200.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Brookdale\" class=\"wp-image-24822040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/brooklyn-computer-crashes-200.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/brooklyn-computer-crashes-200.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/brooklyn-computer-crashes-200.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Patients have had to seek treatment at other hospitals due to Brookdale\u2019s computer systems crashing.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Seth Gottfried<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely no coordination with other hospitals in Brooklyn to assist with the patients even though One Brooklyn is transferring patients to them without any explanation.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the industry insider said,\u00a0FDNY\u2019s EMS service kept sending its ambulances to One Brooklyn hospitals because no one told them that One Brooklyn had an IT problem. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely no coordination.\u00a0 Absolutely no communication.\u00a0 Where is the [governor\u2019s office]?\u00a0 Where is the State DOH [Department of Health]?,\u201d the source said. <\/p>\n<p>The state Health Department, which regulates hospitals, issued a terse statement that did not shed light on the cause of the IT system crash. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/brooklyn-computer-crashes-202.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Gov. As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further,\u201d said DOH spokesman Jeffrey Hammond.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0One Brooklyn chief executive officer LaRay Brown, in a statement to The City, also gave scant details on the cause of the computer systems crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne Brooklyn Health (OBH) recently experienced an incident resulting in a network disruption. But cyber attacks have\u00a0 steadily increased every year with 297 known attacks last year, according to a survey the cybersecurity company Recorded Future, which <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/tech\/security\/cyberattacks-us-hospitals-mean-higher-mortality-rates-study-finds-rcna46697\">was provided to <\/a>NBC <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two-thirds of hospital IT professionals in the Ponemon study who were victims of ransomware attacks said they disrupted patient care, and 59% of respondents found they increased the length of patients\u2019 stays. Nearly one-quarter said they led to increased mortality rates at their facilities. <\/p>\n<p>Safety net hospitals operating in the red or a shoestring budget are prime targets of cyber attackers because they may not have the most advanced IT protections to prevent an attack, industry sources said.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
