Upon making history, Orion sn<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vlMl_4AvmQ0\"> an astounding photo <\/a>of the Earth and moon as it cruised at a swift 1,679 mph.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of the unbelievable can-do spirit, Artemis I has had extraordinary success and has completed a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of history-making events,\u201d NASA administrator Bill Nelson said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nasa.gov\/artemis\/2022\/11\/28\/artemis-i-flight-day-13-orion-goes-the-max-distance\/\">in a statement<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s incredible just how smoothly this mission has gone, but this is a test. That\u2019s what we do \u2014 we test it and we stress it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The last benchmark for the farthest distance traveled by a spacecraft meant for humans was set by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/space-exploration\/apollo-13#:~:text=On%20April%2015%2C%201970%2C%20Apollo,from%20Earth%20reached%20by%20humans.\">Apollo 13<\/a> in 1970, when the manned ship rocketed 248,655 miles into our galaxy.<\/p>\n<p>Now, 50 years since the end of the Apollo mission, the Artemis I team is challenging Orion for future missions that will, in theory, include a crew. As they near the halfway mark, the flight controllers have completed at least 37% of the mission\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-slideshow\" data-component=\"inlineSlideshow\">\n<div <\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe imagery was crazy,\u201d Rick LaBrode, the lead flight director of the Artemis I mission, said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/press-release\/nasa-to-share-artemis-i-update-with-orion-at-farthest-point-from-earth\">live press conference<\/a> Monday. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to articulate what the feeling is. It\u2019s really amazing to be here and see that.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>But shattering a record doesn\u2019t mean the mission is over. Orion still has to complete multiple objectives, including completing the orbit around the moon, re-entering Earth\u2019s atmosphere and surviving the landing. It is scheduled to touch down in the Pacific Ocean on Dec. 11 after nearly 26 days in space.<\/p>\n<p>Just getting Orion off the ground was met with a few hiccups.
