They allow repeat offenders to continue their reign of crime. Their offices are in states of confusion. These DAs uphold their own agendas in direct conflict with the safety of citizenry. What to do?<\/p>\n<p>The governors or voters of their respective states can replace them with DAs sworn to protect the public.<\/p>\n<p>But that would mean having a New York governor who doesn\u2019t gaslight and makes tough decisions based on fact, not donations. \u2002<\/p>\n<p><em>J. Impreveduto<\/em><br \/><em>Naples, Fla.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The policies being implemented by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg are exactly what he promised during his campaign. There has been no bait-and-switch.<\/p>\n<p>The public was told what he would do and voted for it. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>arently, these policies are what the public wanted and voted for. Now the public can suffer from the policies they endorsed.<\/p>\n<p>Why is The New York Post or anyone complaining? <\/p>\n<p><em>Andrew Feinman<\/em><br \/><em>Brooklyn<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Why does The Post continue to beat a dead horse? The voters of New York wanted and continue to want Bragg as their prosecutor. Elections don\u2019t lie.<\/p>\n<p>In a far-distant world, Manhattan once had great prosecutors: Thomas Dewey, Frank Hogan, Robert Morgenthau.<\/p>\n<p>Morgenthau, himself a liberal, once said the job of a prosecutor is \u201cto protect the public and administer the laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, who knows what a prosecutor\u2019s job is? Bragg made it crystal clear what his thoughts were when running for the job.<\/p>\n<p>So Bragg may be a cancer on the criminal-justice system, but he is not a liar. He telegraphed his message long and hard. He\u2019s not the problem; it\u2019s the people who put him there. <\/p>\n<p><em>John Fleming<\/em><br \/><em>Punta Gorda, Fla.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>District attorneys like Bragg refuse to prosecute criminals, the City Council passes laws that tie the hands of the police, judges turn criminal after criminal free, the state Legislature passes bizarre pro-criminal laws and the governor of New York does her best to imitate a potted plant.<\/p>\n<p>New York is on its way into the sewer, dragging its people with it. There\u2019s a saying that explains it all: Those who show compassion to the cruel will ultimately become cruel to the compassionate. <\/p>\n<p><em>Steve Heitner<\/em><br \/><em>Middle Island<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Issue: A bill that would prevent city landlords from running background checks on potential tenants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am not a landlord, thank God (\u201cNix on tenant checks,\u201d Nov. 27).<\/p>\n<p>City Councilman Keith Powers and Speaker Adrienne Adams support a bill banning city landlords from performing criminal background checks on prospective tenants. Exemptions include NYCHA units and two-family homes. The rest is fair <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Who in their right mind would want a convicted killer or arsonist tenant? Why should innocent apartment dwellers be put at risk? This ceaseless hectoring of landlords defies common sense. <\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Valente<\/em><br \/><em>Staten Island<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We have enough crime in the city streets already. The streets are also inhabited by mental patients (whom the Democratic Party does not want to have hospitalized and taken care of in mental institutions). Repeat criminal offenders are not incarcerated.<\/p>\n<p>The only safe place to hide is our homes.
