Thirty-four years later, Kasdan \u2014 now co-writer and executive producer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> reboot of the original film \u2014 returned to the very same theater on Tuesday for the premiere of Disney+\u2019s <em>Willow<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cIt\u2019s kind of like coming home,\u201d executive producer Roopesh Parekh told <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cI think what\u2019s been key to the whole show, getting it off the ground but also getting to this point, is the love, passion and enthusiasm of Jon Kasdan. He\u2019s sort of navigated this whole thing over the last four years. It\u2019s been his dream to tell our story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWithout Jon, we wouldn\u2019t have a series,\u201d added Warwick Davis, who reprises his role as the eponymous Willow in the series. \u201cHe\u2019s passionate about <em>Willow<\/em> and really understands what it means to the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Joanne Whalley, who starred in the original film as Sorsha, echoed a similar sentiment. \u201cI think it was a mixture of dread and excitement, right?,\u201d remembered Whalley about not knowing what to expect from the reboot. \u201cLike, \u2018Oh God, really? What the hell are you gonna do to it? Please don\u2019t spoil it.\u2019 But any doubts that I may have had were very quickly wiped away by the fabulous Jon Kasdan. I think he understands this material, maybe more than anyone who was involved in the film, or to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Ron Howard, who directed the original <em>Willow <\/em>film, also executive produces on the new series. Previously, Howard directed <em>Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, which Kasdan co-wrote alongside his father. It was in production of the Han Solo prequel that Kasdan first broached the idea of revitalizing <em>Willow <\/em>with Howard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI was very excited because I\u2019d always had in my mind that once Lucasfilm and [Kathleen Kennedy] sort of stabilized at Disney moving forward that I really wanted to push for <em>Willow<\/em> as a show,\u201d explained Howard. \u201cGeorge Lucas had always believed it should be a series. It\u2019s been a dream of George\u2019s and mine to do it as a show. And as Disney+ started to pick up momentum, I just felt like, \u2018Let\u2019s build that vision.\u2019 And Jon Kasdan already had such a great <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to doing it that was not about being nostalgic or retro, but is still true to the roots of the film. Rodriguez\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWhat\u2019s wild about it for us is that we\u2019re used to standing in the rain, sort of hoping for food, hoping that we\u2019re gonna wrap, crying, working hard, knee-deep in mud,\u201d joked Kasdan about the time spent filming the show in Wales. \u201cIt\u2019s not like we\u2019re associated with enormous amounts of glamour and glitz, and yet here we are [at the premiere]. It\u2019s definitely pretty crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The series picks up 20 years after the events of the original movie, as sorcerer Willow Ufgood (Davis) leads a group of misfits on a dangerous rescue mission to vanquish an unknown evil. At the heart of the story are also the journeys of three women \u2014 Princess Kit (Ruby Cruz), Jade (Erin Kellyman) and Dove (Ellie Bamber).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201c[Kit] gave me the opportunity to sort of represent an accurate representation of what it means to grow up as a young woman and the complications of that, rather than the sort of picture perfect idea of what that means,\u201d said Cruz of her character. \u201cThat romanticizing of growing up. I feel like she gave me such an opportunity to show that the complicated messy parts are important, that we shouldn\u2019t run from those. We should pay attention to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI\u2019m excited for people to get to know our characters and see them go on this journey,\u201d added Kellyman. \u201cI hope that in the midst of all of the fantasy and the magic that they find a character that they can relate to. I think all of our characters are very different, and I think there\u2019s genuinely something for everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Davis hopes audiences will be \u201cthoroughly entertained and have a great experience and magical time.\u201d The actor continued, \u201cHopefully, it\u2019ll be something that you can sit with your family and watch. I know for a fact that the movie was watched by parents who then handed it on to their kids, and then grandparents and so forth.
