Unfortunately, that cloud-free life might not be all that cloud-free.<\/p>\n<p>A reported security hole in Eufy\u2019s security cameras and video doorbells was highlighted by security expert <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Paul_Reviews\/status\/1595421705996042240\">Paul Moore<\/a>. Moore said his Eufy camera was uploading pictures of his face, and identifiable user information, to the cloud, despite him not having used a Cloud Storage sub<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ion. This was followed up by someone else mentioning that the data uploaded <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewOzy\/status\/1597256541534420992\">isn\u2019t even encrypted<\/a>, making matters worse \u2014 one of the promises of Eufy\u2019s cameras, alongside local storage, is that whatever it does record will be fully encrypted within your device.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this? If you turn on motion notifications with thumbnails, your Eufy camera will take those pictures and temporarily upload them to a server to relay them to you. Regardless, the company will be more careful with its handling of user data, and disclose things better, from now on. In a statement to <em>Android Central<\/em>, it said that it was \u201crevising the push notifications option language in the eufy Security app to clearly detail that push notifications with thumbnails require preview images that will be temporarily stored in the cloud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you have motion notifications with thumbnails enabled, you\u2019ll still have these images uploaded to the cloud.
