County Special Events Task Force has announced the city\u2019s new agreement on added security restrictions and permit requirements at Houston\u2019s NRG Park, where a crowd crush killed 10 fans and injured hundreds more during Travis Scott\u2019s Astroworld festival just over a year ago. The task force, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstontx.gov\/mayor\/press\/2022\/special-events-task-force.html\">created in February<\/a> by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia on order from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, published a previous report outlining key areas in need of improvement at the park in April.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The new agreement \u2014 not yet publicly available in print form but reviewed by <i><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/astroworld-task-force-reaches-safety-agreement-nrg-park\/\">Billboard<\/a><\/i> and a local <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/abc13.com\/astroworld-houston-harris-county-special-events-task-force-nrg-park-houston-crowd-control\/12504538\/\">ABC affiliate<\/a> \u2014 reportedly sets forth new safety and accountability protocols for future large events in NRG Park, updating a previous interlocal agreement from 2018. Per ABC13, its most notable function is to \u201cdesignate who is in charge of what.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>            <i>Billboard<\/i> reports a number of more specific restrictions:<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-240179\" class=\"content_block breaker triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left block_quote\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"block_quote_wrapper paragraph_wrapper\">\n  Any event hosting more than 6,000 people at the complex will require an on-site unified command center staffed by the Houston Fire Department (HFD), Houston Police Department (HPD), Mayor\u2019s Office of Special Events (MOSE), Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office (HCSO), Harris County Fire Marshal\u2019s Office (HCFMO), NRG Park and the event organizer. Going forward, review and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval of event capacity as well as site, security and medical plans will fall on the HFD chief or a designee. The HFD will also be tasked with clarifying requirements with event organizers to ensure they meet safety, medical and site planning requirements at the venue. Security plans will require additional sign-off by the HPD, while event plans will need sign-off from MOSE.
