\n That\u2019s sloppy, Joe.<\/p>\n

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden reprised his penchant for borrowing lines from other people\u2019s work this week \u2014 app<\/a>arently relying a bit too heavily on the words of a deceased Canuck party leader during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, reports said.<\/p>\n

Biden concluded his Thursday night speech by saying: \u201cFor love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear. Light is more powerful than dark.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Canadian media<\/a> quickly noted that the former veep\u2019s words were\u00a0 uncannily similar to those of Jack Layton, the leader of Canada\u2019s left-wing New Democratic Party, who issued a poignant open letter to his fellow citizens as he lay dying of cancer nine years ago Saturday, on Aug. 22, 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy friends,\u201d Layton wrote, \u201cLove is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA number of Canadians are struck by the similar parting words of Biden\u2019s speech to the final words of Jack Layton\u2019s farewell letter before his death,\u201d CBC\u2019s Washington correspondent Alexander Panetta tweeted at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Layton\u2019s message, meanwhile, had likewise used similar language attributed to former Canadian Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier, the National Post reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you that for the solution of these problems you have a safe guide, an unfailing light if you remember that faith is better than doubt and love is better than hate,\u201d Laurier said in 1916.<\/p>\n

The differences between Biden\u2019s language and Layton \u2014 and Laurier for that matter \u2014 were apparently subtle enough to escape the $4,200 anti-plagiarism software program that the Democratic nominee\u2019s campaign reportedly installed last year.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s cribbing habit goes back decades.<\/p>\n

In 1987, he withdrew from the Democratic Party\u2019s presidential race in shame after he ripped off lines from UK Labor Party Leader Neil Kinnock in a debate \u2014 and even went so far as to claim elements of Kinnock\u2019s family history as his own.<\/p>\n

As a law school student in 1965, Biden flunked a class for repeatedly citing published works without attribution.<\/p>\n

And as recently as last year, Biden caught heat for stealing lines from climate activist groups and using them, word for word, in his own climate change plan \u2014 drawing derision from President Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlagiarism charge against Sleepy Joe Biden on his ridiculous Climate Change Plan is a big problem, but the Corrupt Media will save him,\u201d Trump tweeted at the time.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
