HBO Max combines\u00a0films\u00a0and\u00a0original TV shows, including Emmy-nominated &#8220;Hacks,&#8221;\u00a0with\u00a0the entire library of HBO and many <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> from its corporate siblings such as TNT, TBS\u00a0and CNN. So you&#8217;ll find &#8220;Friends&#8221;\u00a0and\u00a0also series like &#8220;Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,&#8221;\u00a0&#8220;The Sopranos,&#8221;\u00a0&#8220;Sex and the City&#8221; and new &#8220;Looney Tunes&#8221;\u00a0cartoons. This summer HBO and HBO Max&#8217;s biggest and most anticipated new show debuted: &#8220;House of the Dragon,&#8221; a prequel series spun-off from &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a> of Thrones.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although its archive of TV is deep and exciting, there are plenty of duds mixed in with critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning series. We&#8217;ve picked the 50 best series to watch in December\u00a02022, from reality to documentary, to children&#8217;s shows\u00a0to dark dramas (listed in alphabetical order).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u201cAngels in America\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HBO\u2019s 2003 adaptation of Tony Kushner\u2019s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, an allegorical examination of the AIDS crisis and LGBTQ life in the 1980s, is absolutely mesmerizing. Like Spielberg\u2019s lauded \u201cSaving Private Ryan,\u201d the HBO series capture the epic scale of war but are measured and realistic in the costs and sacrifices of soldiers and bystanders.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><cta-atoms-container-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/cta\" class=\"spacer-large\"><\/cta-atoms-container-inline><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. \u201cBarry\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In HBO\u2019s black comedy as dark as Batman\u2019s cape, Bill Hader\u00a0plays a depressed hitman who finds new purpose taking acting classes in LA. Its talented Black lady co<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ns excel in sketches that are unique to their experiences and universal in their humor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. \u201cThe Boondocks\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a stunning voice cast (Regina King!\u00a0John Witherspoon!) and provocative material, this Adult Swim\u00a0animated series was woefully underrated when it aired from 2005-2014. Starring Alan Tudyk, Brendan Fraser, Timothy Dalton, Matt Bomer and more, the series steers clear of tired tropes and fake optimism for a gritty-but-not-exhausting version of superheroics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>14. \u201cEnlightened\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you liked Laura Dern in \u201cBig Little Lies,\u201d you\u2019ll love her razor-sharp, nearly unhinged role as Amy Jellicoe in this two-season HBO series from creator Mike White. Tough to watch, it&#8217;s also an eye-opening look at the lasting effects of abuse\u00a0and the way the media handles allegations against powerful men.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27. \u201cThe Leftovers\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even if the tone of HBO\u2019s overwhelmingly somber series isn\u2019t your style, it\u2019s hard to ignore the level of artistry delivered over three seasons from co-creators Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta. Full of guest roles from great comedians, including Leslie Jones, Fred Armisen and Will Arnett, \u201cOur Flag\u201d mixes romance and farce with ease.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. \u201cThe Plot Against America\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An alternate history drama with dire warnings about modern culture, \u201cPlot,\u201d based on Philip Roth\u2019s\u00a02004\u00a0novel, tracks what would have happened in the U.S. if Franklin Roosevelt\u00a0had lost the 1940\u00a0presidential election to Charles Lindbergh. In particular, Mahershala Ali shines in Season 3 as a Black detective working in the 1980s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>46. \u201cVeep\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some of the political satire&#8217;s bite faded in later seasons, as our world has become more absurd and shocking, but that doesn&#8217;t dull the sharpness of star Julia Louis-Dreyfus&#8217; performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>47. \u201cWatchmen\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HBO\u2019s very loose adaptation of the graphic novel has blossomed into one of creator Damon Lindelof\u2019s best series, and from the man behind \u201cLost\u201d and \u201cThe Leftovers,\u201d that\u2019s some achievement. The series has a superb cast \u2013 including Emmy-winner Regina King\u00a0\u2013 that elevates smart scripts that get better as the season progresses.
