Well, yes I am <em>the<\/em> Keke, just not that Kiki. It was my name first. Stop acting like we smashed and give me my damn $6 million.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Drake PSA - SNL\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sHXAtEY2Nzc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Courtney, another one of Drake\u2019s former \u201clove interests,\u201d played by Ego Nwodim said she left Drake a voicemail about a car payment that ended up as an interlude on the rapper\u2019s album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although Drake may have lost his battle with \u201cUnited Tingz of Aubrey,\u201d he recently had his copyright infringement case thrown out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In her official ruling, Judge Kollar-Kotelly stated that\u201cWay 2 Sexy\u201d did not share enough components with rapper Angelou Skywalker\u2019s \u201cReach For Skies\u201d to justify a copyright violation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit\u201c200\u201d\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe court finds that while Plaintiff does allege ownership of a valid copyright, he does not allege facts to show Defendants\u2019 access to Plaintiff\u2019s song nor substantial similarity,\u201d read Kollar-Kotelly\u2019s decision. \u201cThe court grants the defendants\u2019 motion to dismiss the plaintiff\u2019s complaint in its entirety.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She continued: \u201cThe common short words that Plaintiff emphasizes in both his and Defendants\u2019 songs are not protectable elements of his work,\u201d the ruling continued. \u201cThey are similar to \u2014 and in some instances, more ubiquitous than \u2014 other words and phrases that courts have held not to be protectable. Here, common words like \u2018sexy,\u2019 \u2018yeah,\u2019 \u2018kickin\u2019,\u2019 \u2018okay,\u2019 \u2018action,\u2019 \u2018scenes,\u2019 \u2018where,\u2019 \u2018been,\u2019 \u2018today,\u2019 \u2018make,\u2019 and \u2018hundreds,\u2019 among others that Plaintiff emphasized, are not protectable, nor is a phrase like \u2018wa-pow.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>In his original complaint, the aspiring rapper alleged that Drake had obtained access to his song, \u201cReach For Skies\u201d after it had been uploaded to the Universal Music Group-owned site\u00a0<em>Spinnup<\/em>.
