I\u2019ll confess to being a little skeptical about yet another <em>Batman<\/em> movie, but everything here works, and works exceedingly well. I\u2019m now even more excited to see what else\u00a0<strong>Matt Reeves<\/strong> has in store for us, and how <strong>Robert Pattinson<\/strong> interprets the role of the Caped Crusader. Watch\u00a0<em>The Batman<\/em> trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Batman_Trailer\"><\/span><strong>The Batman Trailer<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NLOp_6uPccQ?feature=oembed\" width=\"740\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>God\u00a0<em>damn<\/em>. Look, I don\u2019t want to overhype things or get too hyperbolic, but this trailer\u00a0<em>owns<\/em>, as the kids say. Even though I like the talent involved with this project I\u2019ll confess that a part of me was thinking, \u201cReally?\u00a0<em>Another<\/em> Batman movie?\u201d But this trailer has sold me. While this <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be keeping the same \u201creal world\u201d tone as the Christopher Nolan <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, it looks and feels different. Dirtier; grungier.<\/p>\n<p>In many ways, this looks like a serial killer movie that just happens to have\u00a0Batman in it. Like\u00a0<em>Seven<\/em>, with Batman instead of Brad Pitt. And that use of Nirvana\u2019s \u201cSomething in the Way\u201d? Perfection. Other things I really dug: Batman just calmly waltzing into a crime scene to talk with Gordon; Batman pummelling some goon while the camera never cuts away; Catwoman\u2019s\u00a0<em>very<\/em> cute little ears on her mask; the eyeshadow visible around Pattinson\u2019s eyes when he takes his mask off.<\/p>\n<p>DC is having a bit of a moment right now. Their DCEU had some stumbling blocks, but they seem to have gotten back on track now. The solution? Try anything and everything. The DCEU world still exists, but now they have alternate, unconnected worlds. One of those worlds is the one inhabited by Joaquin Phoenix\u2019s\u00a0<em>Joker<\/em>. And now we have\u00a0<em>The Batman<\/em>, a new take on the Dark Knight that has nothing to do with the DCEU, or any other Batman movie that came before it.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than a <em>Year One<\/em>-style reboot,\u00a0<em>The Batman<\/em> is taking place in year two of Batman\u2019s crusade against crime. Which is good, because we really don\u2019t need another origin story at this point. Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne\/Batman, leading a cast that includes\u00a0<strong>Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/strong> as Catwoman;\u00a0<strong>Paul Dano<\/strong> as The Riddler;\u00a0<strong>Jeffrey Wrigh<\/strong>t as Commissioner Gordon;\u00a0<strong>John Turturro<\/strong> as Carmine Falcone;\u00a0<strong>Peter Sarsgaard<\/strong> as Gil Colson, Gotham\u2019s district attorney;<strong>\u00a0Jayme Lawson<\/strong> as Bella Re\u00e1l, a mayoral candidate in Gotham; <strong>Andy Serkis<\/strong> as Alfred; and <strong>Colin Farrell<\/strong> as the Penguin.<\/p>\n<p>Reeves co-wrote the script with\u00a0Mattson Tomlin, with Reeves promising \u201can almost-noir driven, detective version of Batman,\u201d something that does indeed sound fresh. Batman is often called \u201cThe World\u2019s Greatest Detective\u201d in the comics, but he\u2019s never really done much detective work in the movies, save for some moments here and there in\u00a0<em>The Dark Knight<\/em>.
