To display all your saved Wi-Fi networks, run &#8220;netsh wlan show profiles&#8221; in PowerShell, and then run &#8220;netsh wlan show profile name=&#8221;NETWORK&#8221; key=clear&#8221; to display the password for the network.<\/p>\n<p>Windows remembers every Wi-Fi password you\u2019ve ever used. That\u2019s how it reconnects to those networks. If you want to view all of the Wi-Fi networks saved on your PC, you\u2019ll need to use one of the following two methods instead.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Use_NirSofts_WirelessKeyView_to_View_All_of_Your_Wi-Fi_Passwords_on_Windows_10\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_1\">Use NirSoft\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nirsoft.net\/utils\/wireless_key.html\">WirelessKeyView<\/a>\u00a0to View All of Your Wi-Fi Passwords on Windows 10<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can view saved passwords with built-in command-line tools in Windows, but we recommend NirSoft\u2019s free WirelessKeyView application. It\u2019s a lightweight tool you don\u2019t even have to install to use\u2014just <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nirsoft.net\/utils\/wireless_key.html#DownloadLinks\">download it,<\/a>\u00a0open the ZIP file, and then double-click the included EXE file (if you have file extensions hidden, open the \u201cWirelessKeyView\u201d application file). You\u2019ll then see a list of saved network names and their passwords stored in Windows.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Some antivirus programs may say WirelessKeyView is malware. That\u2019s a false positive, if so\u2014we\u2019ve never had issues with NirSoft\u2019s free utilities. Unlike many modern Windows programs, they don\u2019t even contain adware.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u201cNetwork Name\u201d column shows the name of the Wi-Fi network\u2014in other words, its SSID. To find the password associated with a network, look under the \u201cKey (Ascii)\u201d column for that network name. This is the password you type to connect to that network.<\/p>\n<p>To back up this information, you can select File &gt; Save All Items. If you don\u2019t want to download third-party software, you\u2019ll have to use command line tools to discover this information.<\/p>\n<p>To find a password on Windows without third-party software, open a Command Prompt or PowerShell window. To do this, right-click the Start button or press Windows+X, and then click \u201cPowerShell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Run the following command to see the list of saved network profiles on your system:<\/p>\n<pre>netsh wlan show profiles<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-426268 size-full\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/img_5d1119b5f1ca3.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"List of saved wireless profiles in PowerShell\" width=\"650\" height=\"290\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Look for the name of the network you need the password for, and then run the following command, replacing \u201cNETWORK\u201d with the name of that network:<\/p>\n<pre>netsh wlan show profile name=\"NETWORK\" key=clear<\/pre>\n<p>Look under \u201cSecurity Settings\u201d in the output.
