Raphael Warnock and Republican former NFL star Herschel Walker.<\/p>\n<p>With 70% of the vote in, Warnock leads Walker by a razor-thin margin, 50.3% to 49.7%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A victory for Warnock, 53, would secure a full six-year term for the incumbent, who won a special election in January 2021 to obtain his Senate seat, and it would expand the Dems\u2019 control of the Senate to 51-49.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The runoff for the full term was forced after neither Warnock nor Walker received more than 50% of the vote in the Nov. 8 midterm election.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the race was close as of press time, political analysts indicated that the results coming in favored a Warnock victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this point, turnout in metro Atlanta would need to be unusually rough for Warnock (D) to lose,\u201d election analyst Dave Wasserman <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Redistrict\/status\/1600299043283943424?s=20&amp;t=4mPd-efJWQSp0UiQ5medaw\">wrote<\/a> in a tweet. \u201cIt\u2019ll be a close margin, but he\u2019s in the driver\u2019s seat now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wasserman also pointed out that in several Georgia counties won by Walker his margin of victory is not as much as it was on Nov. 8.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/warnock-walker-runoff-939.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Herschel Walker\" class=\"wp-image-24921832\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/warnock-walker-runoff-939.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/warnock-walker-runoff-939.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/warnock-walker-runoff-939.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Republican candidate for US Senate Herschel Walker speaks during a campaign stop at the Governors Gun Club in Kennesaw, Ga., on  Dec. 5, 2022.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP\/Ben Gray<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cCamden Co. Another good result for Warnock (D),\u201d Wasserman <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Redistrict\/status\/1600306935236296705?s=20&amp;t=4mPd-efJWQSp0UiQ5medaw\">noted<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Morehouse College grad, actor and director Spike Lee, was among those <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theatlantavoice\/status\/1600293876543037440?s=20&amp;t=HaVjE92kjJH2_wV9frMy_g\">spotted at Warnock\u2019s campaign headquarters<\/a> Tuesday night hoping to celebrate a potential win by the Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>Walker allies, including former Republican Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dylanewells\/status\/1600294629160599552?s=20&amp;t=jzTvI2WorJj_EeSQWEL1Og\">gathered<\/a> at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta Tuesday night for the campaign\u2019s election night watch party, where the stage was set on a mock <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LaleeIbssa\/status\/1600261438995456002\/photo\/1\">football field<\/a> in front of a large No. 34, Walker\u2019s number when he starred for the University of Georgia football team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hotly contested race brought out some of the biggest political guns on both sides, with former President Donald Trump and Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham lining up behind Walker, while ex-President Barack Obama and President Biden rallied for Warnock.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock, a former pastor at Atlanta\u2019s Ebenezer Baptist Church, is fighting to keep the seat he won when he defeated Loeffler in the 2021 special election. Loeffler had been <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of ailing then-Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson at the end of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Leading up to Election Day on Tuesday, early voting in the Peach State set a number of single-day records and nearly 2 million ballots had already been cast before the period ended on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bAccording to a RealClear Politics\u2019 average of the polls,\u200b Warnock had as much as a 5 percentage point lead over Walker heading into Tuesday\u2019s contest.<\/p>\n<p>If Walker pulls out a victory, the 50-50 split in the upper chamber would remain as it has over the past two years, with Democrats relying on Vice President Kamala Harris to cast tie-breaking votes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republicans hold a small majority in the House because of the results of the Nov. 8 midterm elections.\u00a0\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
