\n Well, that happ<\/a>ened fast.<\/p>\n

Earl Thomas\u2019 time in Baltimore is over.<\/p>\n

The seven-time Pro Bowl safety was cut by the Ravens on Sunday\u00a0in the wake of his practice scuffle with fellow safety Chuck Clark on Friday in which he reportedly punched Clark. The Cowboys, who sought former Jets safety Jamal Adams, are the favorite to land him, according to ESPN. The Ravens said the reason for Thomas\u2019 release was \u201cfor personal conduct that has adversely affected the Baltimore Ravens,\u201d meaning they\u2019re likely to pursue recouping money on Thomas\u2019 four-year, $55 million contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the Ravens organization for the opportunity. Had a great run,\u201d Thomas wrote on his Instagram story after being released. \u201cWish things would have ended different but you live and you learn. Thank you Eric DeCosta and everyone else who played a role in bringing me to B-More. Wish you guys the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ravens players\u2019 \u201cLeadership Council made it clear to decision makers they would prefer Thomas not be around,\u201d according to CBS. While Thomas, 31, was in the second year of the contract.<\/p>\n

Thomas attempted to clear the air by posting the clip of the play on Instagram and addressing it in a statement. He wrote that he committed a mental error and was trying to calmly explain to Clark what happened when \u201cbuilt up aggression turned into me getting into with a teammate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing sent home sucks. I can\u2019t take the reps I need to keep momentum going. but I can reflect on things and keep working [on] my plan to help the team win\u2026\u201d Thomas wrote in a since-deleted post. \u201cThis has been one of my best camps. [It\u2019s] crazy a situation like this can [throw] dirt on it.. \u2026Since we didn\u2019t keep it in house and I\u2019m getting text and calls from ESPN reporters etc [I] thought I\u2019d try and clear the air \u2026 situations like this narrow my window for error but this [is] the path I choose.\u201d<\/p>\n

A former star for the Seahawks, Thomas has had issues with a teammate in Baltimore before. Last season, he got into a \u201cheated talk\u201d with nose tackle Brandon Williams following a 40-25 loss to the Browns because he was frustrated Williams was inactive for the game<\/a> due to injury. Thomas later said the two cleared the air.<\/p>\n

His latest incident is coming off a hectic offseason for the veteran, who was allegedly held at gunpoint by his wife after he was caught having an affair with another woman.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
