According to the tweet, costs decrease from $10 per month to $4.<\/p>\n<p>All of this while securing BTC\u2019s underlying blockchain network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Powering a rural Kenya village and securing the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> network with excess hydropower, all while lowering rates to 2000 people (500 families, ~$10\/month to $4).  <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GridlessCompute?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@GridlessCompute<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9GUlAU6265\">pic.twitter.com\/9GUlAU6265<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 jack (@jack) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jack\/status\/1601126305683996673?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 9, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Earlier this week, the project also shared results of a successful $2 million funding round led by VC Stillmark and Blocks, the parent company of Cash<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a> and Square.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gridless, the funds from this round will be used to further the expansion of BTC mines across African markets while targeting rural communities for accessible energy.<\/p>\n<p>Erik Hersman, the CEO of Gridless, said that while BTC mining has been widespread throughout North America, Europe and Asia, Africa has great opportunities to diversify mining. He highlighted that renewable energy is abundant on the continent.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0&#8220;This presents excellent potential for profits for both energy generators and miners as well as the ability to deliver real positive impact on the communities where it is put to use.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Miles Suter, an active personality in the BTC community and lead at CashApp, visited one of sites in rural Kenya.
