While there he came in for a\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=41P9cbaWiBc\">grilling from GOP lawmakers.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to read a few quotes about Twitter\u2019s practices and I just want you to tell me if they\u2019re true or not,\u201d Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Penn.) said. \u201cSocial media is being rigged to censor conservatives. Steve Scalise, (R-La.), Dorsey told the Congressman that any shadow-banning of GOP lawmakers by the company\u2019s algorithm \u201cwas not written with that intention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dorsey\u2019s claims were echoed for years by company executives like Vijaya Gadde, one of his closest lieutenants.<\/p>\n<p>But in recent days\u00a0Musk and\u00a0journalists\u00a0Matt Taibbi\u00a0and Bari Weiss have\u00a0released\u00a0bombshell reports\u00a0proving extensive\u00a0political censorship\u00a0at Twitter, based on a vast trove of internal documents.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/jack-dorsey-told-congress-under-oath-twitter-was-not-shadow-banning-3.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Rep. Some critics even said the testimony could leave Dorsey open to perjury charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn its face, Dorsey has vulnerability after the latest release. Dorsey was repeatedly asked about censoring and shadow banning, which has now been confirmed in these\u00a0files,\u201d George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe greatest defense for Dorsey may be found in the Justice Department itself.
