Whenever you think the dead are gone, they always come back and now they\u2019re returning in the new film\u00a0<em>Evil Dead Now<\/em>, the next film in the <em>Evil Dead<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n<p>The idea for this film has gone through many development changes since it was originally announced in 2013. After the release of Fede Alvarez\u2019s 2013 modern adaptation, Sam Raimi stated that he was planning another film that would focus on the character Mia (Jane Levy).<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the franchise would have included remaking each of the original\u00a0films, with\u00a0<em>Evil Dead 2.0<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Army of Darkness 2<\/em>\u00a0to be followed by a crossover film\u00a0that would merge the narratives of Ash and Mia together.<\/p>\n<p>This, unfortunately, never happened, but plans for another <em>Evil Dead<\/em> were never officially taken off the table. There was later a television <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> sequel titled<em> Ash vs. Evil Dead<\/em>, which took place nearly 30 years after the events of<em> Army of Darkness<\/em>. Bruce Campbell believed that the series would be as close to a follow-up film they would ever get. However, in 2019 Raimi confirmed that another film was in development.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Will_Bruce_Campbell_return\"><\/span>Will Bruce Campbell return?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Bruce Campbell is done playing Ash but he\u2019s still in the know when it comes to all things Evil and Dead. Speaking to\u00a0Empire, Campbell opened up about the latest developments around the new film and Lee Cronin, the director Raimi has entrusted in.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re just getting off the phone with\u00a0Lee Cronin, who is writing and directing the next <em>Evil Dead,<\/em>\u201d he confirmed. \u201cIt\u2019s called\u00a0<em>Evil Dead Now<\/em>. Sam handpicked Lee \u2013 he did a cool movie called\u00a0<em>The Hole In The Ground<\/em>. We\u2019re going to get that sucker out as soon as practical.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Campbell also revealed that\u00a0<em>Evil Dead Now<\/em> will not focus on Ash, or any other male hero, but will instead center around a female protagonist.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFrom this point forward, they kind of have to stand on their own. Which is fine. And liberating,\u201d says Campbell. \u201cYou could have different heroes, different heroines in this case. This one\u2019s gonna be a little more dynamic.\u201d He said, \u201cWe jut want to keep the series current. And the mantra, really, is that our heroes and heroines are just regular people. That\u2019s what we\u2019re going to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Evil Dead Now<\/em> is presumed to be an entirely new film in the franchise with no ties to the original films, series, or the 2013 film. Although it will likely take place within the same universe.
