Ray, a restructuring expert who steered disgraced energy firm Enron through its high-profile bankruptcy, described FTX\u2019s internal governance as the worst he\u2019s encountered in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried fired back at Ray in his nixed written remarks and claimed to regret \u201cgiving into pressure\u201d to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy at FTX last month.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI have reached out to Mr. Ray and the Chapter 11 team numerous times. Sometimes I\u2019ve been requesting access to my own data, but other times I\u2019ve been attempting to alert them to potentially important information for their jobs and duties to creditors and customers of FTX,\u201d the testimony said.<\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried also claimed to have received \u201ca potential funding offer for billions of dollars\u201d just moments after he signed the paperwork clearing the way for FTX\u2019s bankruptcy. The beleaguered FTX founder said he tried to rescind Ray\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment as CEO, but it was too late.<\/p>\n<p>House Financial Services Committee Chair Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said she was \u201csurprised\u201d to hear of Bankman-Fried\u2019s arrest in the Bahamas on the eve of his scheduled appearance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough Mr. Bankman-Fried must be held accountable, the American public deserves to hear directly from Mr. Bankman-Fried about the actions that\u2019ve harmed over one million people, and wiped out the hard-earned life savings of so many,\u201d Waters said in a statement. \u201cThe public has been waiting eagerly to get these answers under oath before Congress, and the timing of this arrest denies the public this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> Spaces interview on Monday, Bankman-Fried said he planned to testify via Zoom because he was \u201cquite overbooked.\u201d He also expressed concerns about \u201cpaparazzi\u201d if he <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ed back to the US.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, members of the Senate Banking Committee said Bankman-Fried had refused their request to testify at a similar hearing this week.
