data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lication was made after a magistrate judge in the Caribbean country ordered Bankman-Fried remanded pending his potential extradition to the US, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters. <\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried was arrested Monday evening in the Bahamas and charged in the Southern District of New York in an eight-count federal indictment, including fraud, money laundering, conspiracy, and campaign finance violations. <\/p>\n<p>He faces a maximum of 115 years in prison if convicted. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what argument Bankman-Fried put forward in his renewed bail application, but <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ewnewsbahamas\/status\/1603498278930227207\">a local report<\/a> said it would be heard on Jan. 17. <\/p>\n<p>An attorney for Bankman-Fried did not im<a he\u2019ll have to make a bail application with federal prosecutors in Manhattan. <\/p>\n<p>The US Attorney\u2019s Office, meanwhile, has said they intend to charge Bankman-Fried\u2019s
