He opened up about his suicidal urges and depression in a heartfelt Facebook post at the time, admitting he felt ashamed of himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYesterday I checked myself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges. I am not at peace. I haven\u2019t been since you\u2019ve known me,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIf I didn\u2019t come here, I would\u2019ve done something to myself. The <em>Entergalactic<\/em> star said he required physical therapy after the stroke, and at one point in his recovery tried reading with actor Michael Cera for a Broadway role in <em>Lobby Hero<\/em>. The gig went to someone else, but Cudi said it was a big moment for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI proved to myself that I could do it,\u201d he said. \u201cI needed that at the time. I was happy.
