misinformation&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>The FBI and other law enforcement organizations treated <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> as a \u201csubsidiary,\u201d flagging numerous accounts for purportedly harmful \u201cmisinformation\u201d since January of 2020, according to the sixth installment of the \u201cTwitter Files.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Independent journalist Matt Taibbi described the FBI\u2019s relationship with Twitter as having a \u201cmaster-canine quality\u201d with \u201cconstant and pervasive\u201d contact between the law enforcement agency and the social media giant.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetween January 2020 and November 2022, there were over 150 emails between the FBI and former Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth,\u201d Taibbi <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1603857541414412304?s=20&amp;t=QtQBLoNkxzAujLOS5IoAgA\">wrote<\/a> on Friday, referring to the executive who helped suppress The Post\u2019s reporting on first son Hunter Biden\u2019s extensive overseas business interests.<\/p>\n<p>Taibbi <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1603857546099449869?s=20&amp;t=QtQBLoNkxzAujLOS5IoAgA\">found<\/a> that a \u201csurprisingly high number\u201d of the FBI\u2019s missives were requests \u201cfor Twitter to take action on election misinformation,\u201d including obvious jokes from accounts with low number of followers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img constitute violations of Twitter\u2019s Terms of Service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One account on the list tweeted mostly jokes, but Twitter employees still rushed to \u201clook for reasons to suspend\u201d the account for \u201ccivic misinformation.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHELLO TWITTER CONTACTS\u201d: The master-canine quality of the FBI\u2019s relationship to Twitter comes through in this November 2022 email, in which \u201cFBI San Francisco is notifying you\u201d it wants action on four accounts: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1603857573219819529?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 16, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>While conservatives have suggested that Twitter\u2019s enforcement actions have unfairly targeted them, Taibbi said the FBI also flagged left-wing accounts over obvious satire.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In one case, the FBI noted a user with the name \u201cULTRA MAGA\u201d who tweeted on Nov. 8, midterm election day: \u201cAmericans, Vote today. Democrats you vote Wednesday 9th.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In another instance, the agency <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1603857590299103232?s=20&amp;t=nJsal0IJptT5qxv2HtG2dw\">flagged<\/a> an account belonging to a user who Taibbi said \u201ckids a lot,\u201d and wrote: \u201cI\u2019m a ballot counter in my state.
