He was doing all he could to distance himself from that fateful comment he made when asked after the 10-3 loss to the Patriots if he felt like he and the offense owed an apology to the defense and he answered \u201cno\u2019\u2019 twice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"200\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/playlist.megaphone.fm\/?e=NYPH6196495127&amp;light=true\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He was asked on Friday if, because of the place he\u2019s been in the past couple of weeks, relegated to working as the scout team quarterback in practice, he\u2019s concerned his margin for error is slimmer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWell, I mean the worst has already happened, right, for me personally?\u2019\u2019 Wilson said, referring to his benching.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The answer to that question, if Wilson isn\u2019t better for his benching and is eventually benched again, never to play for the Jets again, would be \u201cno.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wilson spoke about \u201cjust finding the fun in football\u2019\u2019 for himself again. He talked about the \u201cstep back\u2019\u2019 reinforcing his \u201cgratitude\u2019\u2019 toward football \u201cand what it brings me in my life.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Saleh called this \u201ca great opportunity for Zach to just get back on track and do what we know he\u2019s capable of.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With White limited in practice this week, Saleh said Wilson \u201chas gotten vast majority of the first-team reps, so, we feel very comfortable about Zach\u2019s preparation as the first-string quarterback.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been a lot of sports radio chatter since Wilson\u2019s benching \u2014 from people who\u2019ve never even been inside the Jets locker room \u2014 that Wilson\u2019s teammates detest him. I mean, he\u2019s played very good football for us and we did go 5-2 with him at quarterback.
