He is now at home with his family in Southern California.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A statement on the site \u2014 which has been dedicated to supporting his fight for freedom \u2014 shared the Shakur family\u2019s request for privacy, as the 72-year-old prepares to spend the holidays with his loved ones while tending to his health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision to grant parole is based on federal law guidelines for \u201cold law\u201d prisoners, finding that Dr. Shakur poses no threat to the community, taking into consideration his exemplary conduct in prison, his medical condition and how much time he has served,\u201d read the statement. \u201cMutulu is now with his family. At the time, doctors estimated he had about six months to live. His legal team im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely filed\u00a0 his eleventh request for parole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis health situation is extremely dire right now,\u201d Shakur\u2019s attorney Brad Thomson told\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/nbcblk\/activists-are-working-keep-tupac-shakurs-activist-stepfather-dying-can-rcna39436\"><em>NBC News<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cHe\u2019s very much on an end-of-life trajectory. We\u2019re looking at a matter of months at the most but, realistically, it could be a matter of days or weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit300\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>He continued: \u201cAt this point, the issue is getting him released so he can say goodbye to his loved ones, his family, his children, and grandchildren. To be surrounded by loved ones, so he can die in dignity, peace and comfort outside of prison.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On November 10, the Mutulu Shakur was given permission to spend his final days outside of prison by the U.S. Parole Commission, after 36 years behind bars. His prison release had been denied 10 times until an October hearing, where the federal parole commission admitted he held an impeccable institutional record and was no longer a risk to society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe now find your medical condition renders you so infirm of mind and body that you are no longer physically capable of committing any Federal, State or local crime,\u201d the parole commission said.<\/p>\n<p>The panel previously denied his release in September, despite medical reports supporting his decline in physical function, confusion and hallucinations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit400\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Shakur was convicted of racketeering conspiracy charges in 1981 for his involvement in the robbery of a Brink\u2019s armored truck, where a guard and two police officers were killed.
