He posts frequently about US politics and abortion, and the video of the aborted fetus was accompanied by a post saying that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic platform would allow abortion to continue and that Donald Trump and the Republican platform want to protect unborn children.<\/p>\n<p>Pavone remains a firm supporter of Trump: His Twitter handle features him wearing a \u201cMAGA\u201d hat with a background photo featuring the former US president, whom many conservatives praise for his Supreme Court nominees who overturned the landmark decision guaranteeing a constitutional right to abortion in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet Sunday, Pavone sounded defiant, comparing his fate to that of the unborn.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/frank-pavone-221218-05.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Father Frank Pavone (L) and Rev. The only difference is that when we are \u201caborted,\u201d we continue to speak, loud and clear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His supporters immediately denounced the measure, including the bishop of Tyler, Texas, Joseph Strickland, who referred to US President Joe Biden\u2019s support for abortion rights as \u201cevil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe blasphemy is that this holy priest is canceled while an evil president promotes the denial of truth &amp; the murder of the unborn at every turn, Vatican officials promote immorality &amp; denial of the deposit of faith &amp; priests promote gender confusion devastating lives\u2026evil,\u201d Strickland tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>Pavone had appealed to the Vatican over restrictions placed on his ministry in 2011 by the Amarillo bishop, succeeded in getting the restrictions eased, and relocated away from Texas while remaining active with Priests for Life.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/frank-pavone-221218-04.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Father Frank Pavone welcomes people for Terri Schiavo's public memorial service.\" class=\"wp-image-25056081\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/frank-pavone-221218-04.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/frank-pavone-221218-04.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/frank-pavone-221218-04.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Pavone was investigated for having placed an aborted fetus on an altar and posting a video of it on two social media sites in 2016.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In his letter, Pierre cited information from the Congregation for Clergy that Pavone had been laicized \u2014 he can no longer present himself as a priest \u2014 after being found guilty in a canonical proceeding \u201cof blasphemous communications on social media and of persistent disobedience of the lawful instructions of his diocesan bishop.\u201d The letter was first reported by Catholic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> Agency.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said Pavone was given \u201cample opportunity to defend himself\u201d as well as to submit to his bishop. \u201cIt was determined that Father Pavone had no reasonable justification for his actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement concluded that since Priests for Life is not a Catholic organization, it would be up to the group to determine whether he could continue his role \u201cas a lay person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laicization, or being reduced to the lay state, is one of the harshest sanctions in the church\u2019s canon law.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
