That is bulls\u2014,\u201d Licht <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/a289eb16-6aa4-4b4e-831a-aa4663b7c9fd\">told the\u00a0Financial Times<\/a>\u00a0in November. \u201cYou have to be compelling. Discovery David Zaslav had to lobby him for several weeks to the take job, which he now views as a calling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite being at the job for less than a year, Licht\u2019s tenure has been filled with drama and layoffs.\u00a0He cut hundreds of jobs earlier this month as the network\u2019s profits tank. <\/p>\n<p>He started his job a day after the network\u2019s streaming service CNN+ was shuttered less than a month after it launched.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
