Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has spilled into public view, with the two trading barbs over House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy\u2019s (R-Calif.) Speakership ambitions, controversial and fringe statements Greene has made and Boebert\u2019s narrow reelection.<\/p>\n<p>A comment from Boebert about Greene during an interview on Monday alongside Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) launched the testy and public back-and-forth between the two lawmakers.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cYou know, I\u2019ve been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things that she believes in,\u201d Boebert told conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at a Turning Point USA conference when asked about Greene\u2019s support for McCarthy. \u201cI don\u2019t believe in this just like I don\u2019t believe in Russian space lasers \u2013 Jewish space lasers and all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boebert\u2019s comment was a reference to a 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> post from Greene in which she floated that a \u201claser beam or light beam\u201d from \u201cspace solar generators\u201d could be to blame for wildfires in California, also mentioning the \u201cRothschild Inc.\u201d Greene <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/marjorie-taylor-greene-tries-squirm-005914269.html\">later said<\/a>\u00a0she did not know the Rothschilds have long been at the center of antisemitic conspiracies theories.<\/p>\n<p>Greene fired back at Boebert on Twitter Monday evening, noting Boebert\u2019s slimmer-than-expected reelection win\u00a0and accusing her of being childish.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. She just barely came through by 500 votes,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMTG\/status\/1604987464942174208?s=20&amp;t=BNC5dbCe-fpeNxdLJxZelw\">Greene said<\/a>. \u201cShe gladly takes our $$$ but when she\u2019s been asked: Lauren refuses to endorse President Trump, she refuses to support Kevin McCarthy, and she childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boebert responded to Greene in comments to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/12\/19\/exclusive-rep-boebert-refuses-explain-marjorie-taylor-greene-blind-support-mccarthy\/\">Daily Caller<\/a>\u00a0on Monday, saying she supports Trump and that he is the leader of the Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>Greene and Boebert were both elected to the House for the first time in 2020 and won reelection in 2022. The two are members of the confrontational right-wing House Freedom Caucus, and have been vocal allies of Trump. In one notable moment, they both chanted \u201cbuild the wall\u201d\u00a0during President Biden\u2019s State of the Union address this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>But they have taken very different stances on whether McCarthy should be Speaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Boebert has withheld support for McCarthy, saying that her \u201cred line\u201d is restoring any member\u2019s ability to make a \u201cmotion to vacate the chair\u201d to force a vote on ousting the Speaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Greene, on the other hand, has emerged as one of McCarthy\u2019s most vocal supporters, warning that a more moderate alternative could win the Speakership if House Republicans do not unify around him. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>McCarthy has pledged to put Greene back on committees after she was s<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>ped of her assignments over social media interactions, but Greene has said McCarthy has not made any promises regarding which committees she might sit on.<\/p>\n<p>In comments to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/12\/19\/exclusive-rep-boebert-refuses-explain-marjorie-taylor-greene-blind-support-mccarthy\/\">Daily Caller<\/a>\u00a0on Monday, Boebert dug in on her criticism of Greene and expressed frustration about being tied to her fringe statements and actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been asked to explain MTG\u2019s belief in Jewish space lasers, why she showed up to a white supremacist\u2019s conference, and now why she\u2019s blindly following Kevin McCarthy and I\u2019m not going to go there,\u201d Boebert said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Greene earlier this year spoke at a conference hosted by white nationalist Nick Fuentes. Last month, after Fuentes attended a dinner with Trump and r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er Kanye West, Greene condemned Fuentes. She said that she would not have spoken at the conference had she known his views, but did not regret her message.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only person who can answer for Marjorie\u2019s words and actions is Marjorie. Let me be very clear, I support President Trump. Period. President Trump is a friend and the leader of the Republican party,\u201d Boebert said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Boebert\u2019s \u201cspace laser\u201d dig echoed a similar quip from Gaetz last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever Kevin has promised Marjorie Taylor Greene, I guarantee you this: At the first opportunity, he will zap her faster than you can say Jewish space laser,\u201d Gaetz, who is among a small group of House Republicans vocally opposing McCarthy\u2019s Speakership bid, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/patriottakes\/status\/1592310214329765890\">said\u00a0on former Trump adviser Steve Bannon\u2019s \u201cWar Room\u201d show<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n<p>But Gaetz, who went on a speaking tour with Greene last year, soon made clear that he is an \u201cadmirer\u201d of Greene\u2019s and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mattgaetz\/status\/1592600667390382080?s=20&amp;t=W8F6K0B4R5N7ftbCdMSAhA\">praised her<\/a>\u00a0for \u201cinspiring our patriotic fellow Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Appearing in the same interview with Boebert on Monday, Gaetz said that while he is \u201ca fan of hers,\u201d they do not see the Speakership battle the same way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
