While discussing the song that put her on the map, Ashanti recalled how exciting it was to get her hands on Biggie\u2019s vocals from his track <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4huppvwcybM\">\u201cFuck You Tonight\u201d<\/a> for her song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit\u201c200\u201d\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cGosh I\u2019ll never forget. We went down to the office \u2013 this is when Harve [Pierre] was down in the basement,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s where all the B.I.G. stuff was. I remember going down there and it felt like we had like, a prize. You know? It was his vocals!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the fact that they gave us the okay to use his verse\u2026 And again, me being a new artist!\u201d Ashanti continued. \u201cYou know, I haven\u2019t sold any records yet. And then he was like, \u2018Nah, I\u2019m dead serious. Let\u2019s take a shower together and I\u2019ll give you the records. If not, I need 40 racks per record.\u2019 And again, I thought he was joking because we had been working with each other for like, I don\u2019t know, a couple of weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The situation was seemingly later \u201chandled\u201d after she made \u201csome phone calls,\u201d although she didn\u2019t get into specifics \u2013 something Akademiks didn\u2019t seem to like.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the interview aired, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> personality called her out for not naming the culprit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish she revealed the name,\u201d Akademiks said on a live stream. \u201cAshanti, you\u2019ve been in the industry for 20 years now, just say the name. Just say the fucking name. I don\u2019t think you do any service to any other woman who might work with this n-gga later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re probably over there sucking cock for a beat and the beat don\u2019t even turn out to be nothing.
