<\/small><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       Ellison made her comments in front of a judge in New York federal court, as she pleaded guilty to helping Sam Bankman-Fried make away with billions in customer funds while misleading investors and lenders and playing down the risk of their crypto trading platform.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<div data-layout=\"inline\n                \" Zixiao \u201cGary\u201d Wang, a former FTX chief <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> office and co-founder, 29,\u00a0pleaded guilty Monday\u00a0this week during separate hearings. <\/p>\n<p> Federal authorities and regulators are making the case that Wang wrote software code, at Bankman-Fried\u2019s behest, to create backdoors into FTX\u2019s systems that allowed Ellison\u2019s Alameda access to customer money and prop up FTX\u2019s own token, FTT.<\/p>\n<p>The pair each potentially face decades in prison sentences if convicted after pleading guilty to charges that included wire fraud, securities and commodities fraud in exchange for leniency.<\/p>\n<p>Both have agreed to cooperate with authorities to lay the groundwork for Bankman-Fried\u2019s own case as the alleged brains behind of one of the biggest crypto frauds in recent memory.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Bankman-Fried was released from custody on a $250 million bond, following his first <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance in a U.S., court on fraud charges.<\/p>\n<p>FTX filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 11 when Bankman-Fried was ousted from the company he co-founded in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The collapse of FTX was, perhaps, hastened by its competitor, Binance, who announced it was unloading $500 million in FTT tokens in November due to \u201crecent revelations that have come to light\u201d about the company\u2019s books. That triggered mass redemptions by depositors, which FTX couldn\u2019t meet.<\/p>\n<p>Ellison is a Stanford University graduate who grew up in the suburbs of Boston, the daughter of two MIT economists, according to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-caroline-ellison-found-herself-at-the-center-of-the-ftx-crypto-collapse-11668899604?mod=article_inline&amp;mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">the Wall Street Journal<\/a>. After graduation, she worked at quantitative trading firm Jane Street, where she met fellow trader Bankman-Fried.
