And it\u2019s just, it\u2019s sad for me to watch that happen,\u201d\u00a0Banning said.<\/p>\n<p>Banning,\u00a0who is behind the #FrunkPuppy trend, which encourages snapping pics of animals in Tesla cars, noted that he has a daughter and a trans child, both of whom now had \u201cmixed feelings\u201d about owning a Model X.<\/p>\n<p>Musk \u2014 who also has a trans daughter \u2014\u00a0recently came under fire for mocking preferred pronouns in a dig at the outgoing director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/elon-musk-rebuffs-tesla-investors-concerns-about-pronoun-comments-3.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25115021\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/elon-musk-rebuffs-tesla-investors-concerns-about-pronoun-comments-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/elon-musk-rebuffs-tesla-investors-concerns-about-pronoun-comments-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/elon-musk-rebuffs-tesla-investors-concerns-about-pronoun-comments-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Elon Musk was confronted on his recent comments about gender pronouns by a Tesla investor Thursday.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">NTB\/AFP via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMy pronouns are Prosecute\/Fauci,\u201d the Space X founder <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1601894132573605888\">tweeted on Dec. 11<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When Banning told Musk that he was also concerned the new Twitter CEO was alienating more liberal users, Musk retorted that he was \u201cnot going to sort of suppress my views just to boost the stock price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElon, you don\u2019t hate trans people, do you?\u201d the moderator clarified.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>Musk said he did not, but continued to say that it bothered him \u201cthat people will use pronouns to just be super judgmental.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo me feels like a lot of these things are a shield that allow people to be a\u2013holes, like a moral shield that where they just give them an excuse to be an a\u2013hole and that\u2019s, that\u2019s what that bothers me,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Banning then pushed back on Musk\u2019s stance, saying he was \u201cpunching down to a really marginalized group.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Talked to my kid about today\u2019s conversation with Elon and they thought it was cool that 1) I spoke up but 2) I got to talk to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@elonmusk<\/a> . <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s pretty neat. Thanks for assisting <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WholeMarsBlog?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WholeMarsBlog<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \ud83d\udc36 Earl of FrunkPuppy \ud83d\udc36 (@28delayslater) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/28delayslater\/status\/1606189997689671680?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 23, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMy kid is just trying to have, like, their pronoun used in school and stuff and it\u2019s, like, you know, then you have this really rich popular person, like, crapping on pronouns,\u201d Banning continued before being cut off by Musk, who asked the moderator to move on to the next question.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/28delayslater\/status\/1606189997689671680\">follow-up tweet<\/a> after the\u00a0incident, Banning said that his child thought it was \u201ccool that\u2026I spoke up but\u2026I got to talk to [Musk].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to The Post on Friday, Banning claimed he was removed from the Twitter Space after Musk\u2019s interruption, \u201cso the conversation ended.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1339253909546823682?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 16, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOther callers had lots of time. Uninterrupted. But my time ended,\u201d Banning said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that at least I planted a seed and Elon hears long-term fans are impacted by some of his tweets. Maybe [he\u2019ll] think a little more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Banning also told The Post that he did not intend to address Musk\u2019s opinions on pronouns in the meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was asking if he ever worried that his tweets might alienate the center and the left. Then I shared my personal story that happened to involve pronouns,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no idea how Elon feels about trans people. He says he supports them but hasn\u2019t said anything positive about trans kids,\u201d Banning continued, noting that Musk\u2019s trans daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, recently changed her name to avoid being associated with her mogul father.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian, 18, is one of Musk\u2019s five children with his first wife, Canadian author Jennifer Wilson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ina recent interview with the Financial Times, Musk blamed \u201cfull-on communist\u201d rhetoric at universities for the family\u2019s estrangement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI absolutely support trans,\u201d Musk <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1339253909546823682?s=20\">previously tweeted<\/a> in Dec. 2020. \u201cBut all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Banning said he\u2019s been disappointed with Musk\u2019s recent antics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI miss the version of Elon that was more focused on climate change and cool cars,\u201d Banning said.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
