Trump\u2019s message played a role in costing Republicans the Senate in Georgia in 2020 and impacted their loss in the state two years later.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>However, the party will have work to do to convince its base to accept the voting practices. According to a study from Pew Research conducted last year, 62 percent of Republicans said voters should only be allowed to vote early or absentee if they have a documented reason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A number of prominent Republicans have spoken out about the party\u2019s pitfalls when it comes to early voting, including Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the RNC invested millions of dollars in trying to persuade voters to vote early, our ecosystem must expand our voter turnout window, change the narrative on early voting, and examine the impact of absentee ballot and early vote chasing in states like Florida and North Carolina, as well as ballot harvesting in California, as a model for the rest of the country,\u201d McDaniel<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/republicans-must-stand-united-2024-learn-key-lessons-midterms\">\u00a0wrote in a Fox News op-ed\u00a0<\/a>earlier this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have pointed to their losses in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia and Nevada, the four most competitive Senate races of the cycle, as evidence that they need to revamp their early vote strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Georgia saw record early vote numbers in its Senate runoff earlier this month. According to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sos.ga.gov\/data-hub-december-6-2022-runoff\">state elections data<\/a>, over 1.8 million voted early in person or absentee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republican strategist Ford O\u2019Connell called for Republicans to embrace an \u201curban election strategy,\u201d in an effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eal to voters in states\u2019 metropolitan areas that often make up the majority of a state\u2019s population. Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada are all home to population centers that Democrats heavily targeted this past election.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe have to start fighting and playing the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> the way Democrats do,\u201d O\u2019Connell said in an interview with The Hill. \u201cThe Republicans are going to be hardpressed to win the White House in 2024 if they don\u2019t pickup Georgia and Arizona.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a lot of ways, someone could argue that Georgia and Arizona for Republicans are the new Florida and Ohio,\u201d he added, referencing the states\u2019 must-win status.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In her Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> op-ed, McDaniel argued that an early vote strategy stands to benefit Republicans with turnout in rural areas as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201c\u200b\u200bOur party must also address the lack of early vote days for rural Americans and work to ensure that we are adequately chasing ballots, whether early, by mail, or on election day,\u201d McDaniel wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But this likely won\u2019t be an easy task for the party, given GOP voters\u2019 skepticism over the process that was exacerbated by former President Trump, who has voted by mail himself, in the 2020 elections.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is going to take time and some hard lessons until we get back to where we were,\u201d said Brian Seitchik, an Arizona-based GOP strategist and Trump campaign alum. \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s a secret sauce of messaging on this. I think we\u2019re just going to have to do this the old-fashioned way and that\u2019s door-to-door.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Republicans acknowledge that the effort to get their base to trust early and absentee voting again will likely take multiple election cycles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt starts with a structure and the RNC and state parties realizing that they have to do better with this and that is happening,\u201d said former RNC spokesman Doug Heye. \u201cNow that has to happen in 50 states, it can\u2019t just happen in three.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, there are still efforts in Arizona where GOP figures, including GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake are challenging the election results, citing allegations including the claim that\u00a0many mail ballots with mismatched signatures were tabulated anyways.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the problem and that\u2019s why it takes 50 states,\u201d Heye said. \u201cIf Arizona continues down this road, well that affects potential Senate races, as it did this time, and House races and gubernatorial candidates.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat has an impact on that state and that has an impact nationally, \u201c he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans argued that a greater reliance on early voting would ease stresses about potential Election Day issues, including tabulator malfunctions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you bank votes early, you don\u2019t have to worry about tabulator malfunctions and people waiting in long lines on Election Day,\u201d O\u2019Connell said. \u201cThere are a lot of ways that we can gripe about the rules but the fact of the matter is until the rules are changed, these are the rules we have.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
