rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y hour \u2014 and, no joke, a woman earned a year\u2019s probation for getting it there.<\/p>\n<p>Erin Christensen, 38, earned her sentence after she was arrested in September for bringing the raccoon, which she named Rocky, into a bar in Maddock, North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Christensen pleaded guilty Tuesday to providing false information to law enforcement, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a furbearer.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping a raccoon as a pet, as well as a bat or skunk, is illegal in North Dakota because the animals are known carriers of rabies, according to the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a> and Fish Department.<\/p>\n<p>Rocky was euthanized by authorities after testing negative for rabies.<\/p>\n<p>Christensen\u2019s other charges stem from her refusal to disclose the location of the raccoon when questioned by authorities, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bismarcktribune.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/crime-and-courts\/woman-sentenced-to-year-of-probation-must-pay-1-100-in-maddock-raccoon-incident\/article_3a00ec56-7fcd-11ed-99e9-cfe315a8b67b.html#tracking-source=article-related-bottom\">the sentence and a year of probation, as well as a $1,100 in fines and fees, instead. <\/p>\n<p>Her family found the raccoon on the side of the road and were nursing it back to health when it was brought into the bar on Sept. 6, Christensen said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe took him into the bar not knowing raccoons were such a big deal, someone who has a huge problem with her in the first place reported her to the department of health,\u201d Christensen\u2019s family wrote on a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/justice-for-rocky-help-for-a-family-member?qid=943fbc566205d0a1cb39df9982ccdfd1\">GoFundMe<\/a> page created to raise legal fees for Erin. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRocky
