\n Garcelle Beauvais has been named the newest co-host of \u201cThe Real,\u201d Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n

Beauvais is joining the syndicated talk show, following\u00a0the departure of\u00a0Tamera Mowry-Housley, who announced earlier this summer that she had decided to exit the show after six seasons.<\/p>\n

The seventh season of \u201cThe Real\u201d kicks off on Sept. 21. The panel will feature Beauvais, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Houghton.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to be joining the dynamic, bold and diverse women on the award-winning talk show \u2018The Real,\u2019\u201d Beauvais said. \u201cMy love for pop culture and news<\/a>, blended with my natural gift of gab, has always made me gravitate towards a talk show environment. It\u2019s also exciting that it\u2019s happ<\/a>ening right after my amazing time joining \u2018The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Beauvais became the first black cast member on \u201cThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d when she joined the Bravo show in 2020. The actress and model is perhaps best known for her stints on \u201cThe Jamie Foxx Show\u201d and \u201cNYPD Blue.\u201d Recently, she was in \u201cSpider-Man: Homecoming\u201d and the CBS All Access series<\/a> \u201cTell Me a Story.\u201d \u00a0She will appear in the upcoming sequel \u201cComing 2 America,\u201d after appearing in the original 1988 film with Eddie Murphy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Real\u201d launched in 2013 with Mowry-Housley, Love, Mai, Houghton and Tamar Braxton, who left the daytime show in 2016. Actress and comedia<\/a>n Amanda Seales was a co-host briefly, joining the show earlier this year in January, before departing this past June.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Real\u201d is a rare success story for the syndicated market, which has not seen many new hits emerge over the past decade. The daytime series \u2014 which showcases a panel of women offering diverse perspectives on hot topics, hot-button issues, beauty, fashion, relationships and their personal lives \u2014 started with a test run on the Fox stations in the summer of 2013, before launching into national syndication in fall 2014.<\/p>\n

Beauvais has previously worked with the Fox stations, co-hosting the syndicated entertainment show \u201cHollywood Today Live\u201d in 2016.\u00a0She is not the first\u00a0\u201cHousewives\u201d star to pull double duty on the Bravo franchise and a syndicated series on the Fox stations, as \u201cReal Housewives of Atlanta\u2019s\u201d Porsha Williams is part of \u201cDish Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like all other daytime talk shows that were impacted by the industry-wide production shutdown, \u201cThe Real\u201d began to film remote shows\u00a0during the coronavirus pandemic, and the upcoming season will continue in the same virtual format when the show returns.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so thrilled to have Garcelle joining our \u2018virtual\u2019 Girl Chat Table,\u201d says executive producer Rachel Miskowiec. \u201cHer extensive career in front of and behind the camera, and her willingness to share her life and her points of view on important topics with us make her the perfect addition. \u201cThe Real,\u201d which is produced by Telepictures Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, has won two\u00a0NAACP Image Awards and the Daytime Emmy in 2018 for outstanding entertainment talk show hosts. The series has been renewed through Season 8.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
