Thankfully, one Ontario homeowner had an F-150 Lightning EV and used Ford\u2019s truck to keep his home powered up and the lights on for two days while the power was out.<\/p>\n<p>If you were wondering if an EV could power a house, the answer is yes. While we\u2019re already well aware of Ford\u2019s bidirectional charging <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, which allows the F-150 Lightning EV battery packs to send or receive power, this is an excellent example of a real-world usage scenario.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly enough, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a> user\u00a0<em>RapsFanLJ<\/em> doesn\u2019t have Ford\u2019s \u201cHome Integration System\u201d or the correct wiring connected to their home electric panel and grid, but that didn\u2019t stop the user from taking advantage of the F-150 Lightning\u2019s massive battery cells.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/F150Lightning\/comments\/zvsol3\/44_hours_without_power_in_southern_ontario_this\/\">post on Reddit<\/a>, once the power went out in their neighborhood, the F-150 Lightning EV owner sprung into action. AND the battery was only down to 65%.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This family could safely keep food cool, the lights on, and entertainment from the TV for 44 hours while the city worked on restoring power. And after all that, the truck still had more than enough juice left.
