CEO urged him sleep with co-workers&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>The CEO of a New York-based metaverse company has been accused of sexually harassing a pair of African-American subordinates \u2014 including a former NFL player who claims she subjected him to bizarre come-ons and prodded him to have sex with co-workers.<\/p>\n<p>Teyo Johnson \u2014 a former tight end for the Oakland Raiders who also played ball as an undergraduate at Stanford University \u2014 claims  Everyrealm CEO Janine Yorio presided over a toxic work environment where she made lewd references about employees\u2019 sex lives as well as racial slurs directed at black employees, including one remark threatening to \u201ctrade\u201d Johnson if he didn\u2019t perform in his job.<\/p>\n<p>In a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court against Yorio and Everyrealm \u2014 whose backers include the Silicon Valley venture firm Andreessen Horowitz and which has t<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> to the SXSW (South By Southwest) festival in Austin, Texas. \u201cKYP,\u201d which stands for \u201cknow your personnel,\u201d or \u201cKYC\u201d \u2014 \u201cknow your client\u201d \u2014 were \u201ceuphemisms for having sex or hooking up with co-workers and business partners,\u201d according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Yorio told Johnson that \u201cthe way to pay the game\u201d was to \u201cget laid by a co-worker on a business trip,\u201d the lawsuit alleges. According to Johnson, the scheme \u201cinvolved a cryptocurrency version of fantasy sports in which users would buy packs of NFTs representing professional soccer playing cards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsers would enter cryptocurrency into a pool and then win prize money if their NFT playing cards performed better than the other players\u2019 NFTs,\u201d according to the lawsuit. Gatsby Frimpong, who said he has done stints as a product manager at Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Cisco Systems, claims he was paid far less at Everyrealm than a white engineering director was offered for similar work, and that Yorio refused to consider him for a promotion after he rejected her sexual advances.<\/p>\n<p>Yorio once told Frimpong during a meeting about engineering and product that \u201cit is important [that he] get the customer wet, just like [he] would with a woman,\u201d the suit claims. On another occasion, Yorio said she and her husband, Jesse Yorio, \u201care only married in the metaverse,\u201d according to the suit.<\/p>\n<p>An Everyrealm spokesperson told The Post: \u201cThese allegations are absurd. These lawsuits are filled with false allegations by former employees who are demanding multimillion dollar settlements,\u201d the company spokesperson added. \u201cOur company works hard to foster a supportive, inclusive workplace, and we will continue to defend against these lawsuits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third former employee, Katherine Yost, 46, who was director of human resources at Everyrealm, also has sued the company over \u201cdiscriminatory and illegal policies and acts,\u201d including sexually suggestive remarks about colleagues\u2019 love lives and orientation by Yorio. <\/p>\n<p>Yost, a former high school acquaintance of Yorio, also alleges that she confided in Yorio that she \u201csuffers from alcohol use disorder\u201d in the hope that \u201cMs. Yorio would be her ally and help deflect attention from the fact that Ms. Yost does not drink at company gatherings,\u201d according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, that did not stop Yorio from allegedly \u201cusing this highly personal and confidential information to taunt Ms. Yost in front of\u201d employees by telling them at an event: \u201cWe need to get Kathy SIX drinks!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked to respond to Yost\u2019s allegations, a spokesperson for Everyrealm told The Post: \u201cThese are nothing more than baseless allegations from a disgruntled former employee seeking to cause harm to our company.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"783\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/image-copy.jpg?w=783\" alt=\"Yorio and Everyrealm are also being sued by Kathy Yost, a high school acquaintance of Yorio's (as seen in the photo above, right).
