We\u2019re getting married this year. It\u2019s something we have talked about but we had put it off. She became ill and it is saying yes to that and that next chapter,\u201d Roberts said before adding, \u201cI can\u2019t believe I just said that.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Roberts later shared the moment she announced it on GMA on her Instagram writing, \u201cSaying YES to marriage in 2023,\u201d with the hashtags \u201c#marriage,\u201d \u201cmanifestation\u201d and \u201c#loveislove.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Roberts will marry her longtime partner longtime partner\u00a0Amber Laign. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Last July, Roberts praised Laign for completing radiation treatment after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of 2021. In an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CgJz9zZJYYt\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=5ba1c734-7549-4c38-a963-740bc9605c15\">Instagram post<\/a>, Roberts shared a video of Laign ringing a bell when announcing her radiation treatment was done. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cSweet Amber, Completing radiation, a very important phase of her treatment! We both thank you for all your well wishes and prayers,\u201d she captioned the video. \u201cProud of her and all fellow Thrivers for your grit and grace during a challenging time. This is indeed my\u00a0#mondaymotivation\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Roberts had announced in February 2022 that Laign had been diagnosed with breast cancer in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobinRoberts\/status\/1496810251072557058?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1496810251072557058%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpeople.com%2Fhealth%2Frobin-roberts-partner-amber-laign-breast-cancer%2F\">a video<\/a> shared on her <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>. \u201cMy sweet Amber wanted me to tell you something that she\u2019s been facing. At the end of last year, Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had surgery last month and this morning will begin chemotherapy. Thankfully, the prognosis is good,\u201d she said at the time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Roberts later shared in April that Laign was temporarily <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/robin-roberts-shares-why-partner-amber-laigns-treatment-was-suspended-amid-cancer-battle-exclusive\">pausing treatment<\/a> amid complications with the chemotherapy. \u201cThey\u2019re working it out. We\u2019re gonna figure it out. The prognosis is still very good,\u201d she told <em>Entertainment Tonight. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Roberts herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, later undergoing a bone marrow transplant and radiation treatment after learning she had the rare blood disorder\u00a0myelodysplastic syndrome\u00a0(MDS).
