playing a part in Rutgers\u2019 stunning upset over No. 1 Purdue.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday night, the grad transfer played the starring role in the even more shocking sequel.<\/p>\n<p>Spencer made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 13.3 seconds to play, and the Scarlet Knights thwarted the Boilermakers\u2019 final two chances to save their perfect season by holding on for a 65-64 victory over the nation\u2019s top-ranked team again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was one of the best <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s I\u2019d ever seen,\u201d Spencer said, referring to Ron Harper Jr.\u2019s buzzer-beating half-court shot to beat Purdue in December 2021. \u201cSo it was pretty cool to do it again, here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This time, the Scarlet Knights (10-4, 2-1 Big Ten) were playing in front of a roaring, sellout crowd at Mackey Arena as Purdue charged back from a 10-point halftime deficit.<\/p>\n<p>But with Spencer, a grad transfer from Loyola (Maryland), and a little help from his new friends, Rutgers earned the school\u2019s second ever victory over the nation\u2019s top-ranked team \u2014 both coming against the Boilermakers.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" Mulcahy finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Scarlet Knights. Spencer scored 14, Clifford Omoruyi added 12 points and together Rutgers\u2019 suffocating defense held the high-scoring Boilermakers largely in check.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue (13-1, 2-1) was led by Zach Edey, who overcame early foul trouble to finish with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Rutgers then was called for <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ing on the inbound play, giving Purdue one last-ditch chance but this time, they didn\u2019t let Edey get his hands on the ball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew it was going to be a battle all night and we made some plays down the stretch,\u201d Pikiell said after players started jumping around the court to celebrate. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to come away with a win in such a tough place.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
