Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Ralph Norman (S.C.), Matt Rosendale (Mont.) and Bob Good (Va.) \u2014 have pledged to vote as a bloc on Tuesday, and they all <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear likely to remain firmly anti-McCarthy.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The group has the potential to derail McCarthy\u2019s Speaker vote, as the House minority leader can afford to lose only four GOP votes after Republicans secured a slim 222-213 majority in November\u2019s midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>If McCarthy fails to secure a majority on Tuesday, the Speaker election will go to a second ballot for the first time in a century.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Andy_Biggs\"><\/span><strong>Andy Biggs<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Despite soundly losing the GOP nomination for Speaker in mid-November, Biggs announced earlier this month that he would challenge McCarthy for the position before the full House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m running for Speaker to break the establishment,\u201d Biggs said in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/repandybiggsaz\/status\/1600195964358230051?s=21&amp;t=5eUplctDbjssScAskIgJ-g\">a tweet<\/a> on Dec. 6. \u201cKevin McCarthy was created by, elevated by, and maintained by the establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biggs has remained steadfast in his opposition to the current House minority leader, saying in an interview with Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> on Thursday that he does not see any scenario in which he would vote for McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>While he has put himself forward as an alternative, Biggs does not appear tied to his own Speakership and has suggested that several other Republican members could be \u201cvery capable\u201d of being Speaker.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe feel support. There are those who will not support me, but there are others who are quietly indicating that they\u2019ll either support me or someone else,\u201d Biggs said in a Fox Business interview on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Matt_Gaetz\"><\/span>Matt Gaetz<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Gaetz has also remained a staunch opponent to a McCarthy Speakership, recently suggesting that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) should take up the mantle instead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not voting for Kevin McCarthy for Speaker because he\u2019s just a shill of The Establishment,\u201d Gaetz told the Daily Caller in a recent interview.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe need someone like Jim Jordan as the speaker of the House, who can cast a vision and who has the trust and confidence of the people across the spectrum in the House,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Florida congressman has repeatedly pushed for Jordan to jump in the race as Tuesday\u2019s vote grows closer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I want for Christmas is @Jim_Jordan to realize he should be Speaker of the House!\u201d Gaetz said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mattgaetz\/status\/1606647007145238529?s=21&amp;t=5eUplctDbjssScAskIgJ-g\">Christmas Eve tweet<\/a>, adding on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mattgaetz\/status\/1607205825877086210?s=21&amp;t=5eUplctDbjssScAskIgJ-g\">Christmas Day<\/a>, \u201cMerry Christmas to all! Make sure to join me in encouraging @Jim_Jordan to seek the Speakership.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>However, Jordan himself has shown no indication that he plans to run for Speaker, instead choosing to endorse McCarthy and expressing concern that a McCarthy loss could push moderate Republicans to work with Democrats to find an alternative candidate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo let\u2019s hope that there\u2019s never any kind of bargain where you bring the Democrats into play because they\u2019ll be \u2026 trying to stop investigations that are our constitutional duty to conduct,\u201d Jordan told Breitbart earlier this month.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ralph_Norman\"><\/span>Ralph Norman<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Unlike his fellow members of the \u201cNever Kevin\u201d squad, Norman appears to have left more room to shift his position on McCarthy. However, he has yet to indicate any change of heart on the upcoming vote.<\/p>\n<p>Norman initially told Politico in late November that he was a \u201chard\u201d no vote on McCarthy\u2019s Speakership over his approach to the national debt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEconomic security is national security. I was not happy with the answer Kevin gave me about balancing the budget,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cI don\u2019t care who the speaker is. It could be Mickey Mouse, but if we have our way, we\u2019re gonna have some firm economic mandates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the South Carolina Republican appeared to soften his stance slightly, with Politico reporting that he was a \u201cno right now\u201d in mid-December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll negotiate,\u201d Norman added, when Axios first reported the group of five\u2019s decision to vote as a bloc. \u201cBy 11:59 [a.m.] on Jan. 3, we\u2019ll know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Norman said McCarthy could sway his vote by agreeing to a plan to balance the budget within seven years, he added that it might not persuade the others, who he promised would \u201call operate as five.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe come as five, so we\u2019re going to agree on all [of the concessions we need],\u201d Norman said, according to Axios.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr5_ab\"><\/aside>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Matt_Rosendale\"><\/span>Matt Rosendale<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Rosendale has pointed to McCarthy\u2019s pushback on several proposed rules changes for his participation in the \u201cNever Kevin\u201d group.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[McCarthy] made it clear that he is unwilling to meaningfully change the rules and challenge the status quo in Washington,\u201d Rosendale said in an op-ed for the Billings Gazette in early December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrent Republican leadership falls in with the majority of politicians who campaign on change but support the current system that provides them with undeserved power and privilege,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Rosendale suggested that he was still on board with the group of five and their opposition to McCarthy in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/reprosendale\/status\/1608892682868510720?s=21&amp;t=5eUplctDbjssScAskIgJ-g\">a tweet<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr6_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe must change the rules and leadership if we are going to restore functionality to congress. There are many more than 5 who recognize this,\u201d Rosendale wrote in response to a post from Gaetz about the Speakership election.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Montana Republican previously said he would vote for McCarthy under \u201cextreme circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bob_Good\"><\/span>Bob Good<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Good, the final member of the five, insisted in an interview with Politico Playbook last week that McCarthy still does not have his vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe doesn\u2019t have anything that I want,\u201d Good told Playbook.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Good also suggested that between 10 and 20 Republicans would vote against McCarthy on Tuesday. While the Virginia congressman said the anti-McCarthy group plans to vote for Biggs in the first vote, it intends to coalesce around another candidate on the second.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe you have enough courageous conservatives who are recognizing based on past history that there\u2019s nothing to indicate that [McCarthy] will bring the fight to the battle,\u201d Good said in an interview with a local Virginia radio station.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
