Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to their purchasing decisions,\u201d co-Chief Executive Officer Marc Benioff said in a\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1108524\/000110852423000003\/ex991-lettertoemployees.htm\">letter to employees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our revenue accelerated through the pandemic, we hired too many people leading into this economic downturn we\u2019re now facing, and I take responsibility for that,\u201d Benioff added.<\/p>\n<p>Salesforce\u00a0had 73,541 employees at the end of January last year, a 30% jump from 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s growth has slowed during the past four quarters, with\u00a0Salesforce\u00a0posting its weakest revenue increase in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies will want to show voting shareholders that they can once again deliver value through investment returns even amidst a downturn,\u201d said Joshua White, a finance professor at Vanderbilt University. \u201cLayoffs will be a big part of that equation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Salesforce\u00a0said affected employees in the United States will receive a minimum of about five months pay, health insurance and other benefits.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
