helicopters involved in a fatal mid-air collision in Australia \u2013 as a passenger taps the pilot in the arm to warn him of the impending disaster.<\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=P0eRqLMlaSE\">footage obtained by 7 News<\/a> shows the tourist in the back seat of the descending chopper trying to alert pilot Michael James while pointing ahead.<\/p>\n<p>James turns toward the passenger, who then braces for impact with the other helicopter on Monday afternoon near Main Beach on Australia\u2019s Gold Coast.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the pilot, the helicopter was carrying Riaan and Elmarie Steenberg, and Marle and Edward Swart, all from Auckland, New Zealand, and another unnamed passenger, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/qld\/inside-the-cockpit-moment-tourist-raises-alarm-seconds-before-fatal-gc-helicopter-crash-c-9351688\">outlet reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Miraculously, they all survived with minor injuries after the windshield shattered, sending glass shards through the cabin.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image Hughes, 65 and 57, and Vanessa Tadros, a 36-year-old mom from Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, we were in the helicopter crash, I am still in the hospital in the Gold Coast, recovering from my injuries\u201d Elmarie, a real estate agent, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02nysu7F8KZ9LuSgMUTsxYxXMrc9BJUnaebqWBryPgr6fn3PKqpj21tUS5zERBcUy9l&amp;id=100010012893210&amp;mibextid=qC1gEa\">wrote on Facebook<\/a>. \u201cAll I can say thank you to God for sparing all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple\u2019s son, Enrico, thanked James for managing to landing the chopper after the collision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThx to than 20 seconds before the accident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the collision, it was a matter of seconds before it has hit the ground. He is in a very serious and critical state.
