You can add MagSafe to any Android phone\u2014it\u2019s a quick and easy task, and it opens the door to hundreds of useful magnetic accessories.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The upcoming Qi2 charging standard, which debuts in late 2023, is based on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le\u2019s MagSafe. So, future Android phones that are Qi2-certified should work with MagSafe accessories.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Does_MagSafe_Work\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_0\">How Does MagSafe Work?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The MagSafe standard is an extension of Qi wireless charging technology. And the idea is pretty straightforward; Apple basically stuck a ring of magnets around the iPhone\u2019s wireless charging coil. These magnets can adhere to\u00a0MagSafe chargers and accessories, which also contain a circle of magnetic material.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the point of all these magnets? Well, MagSafe ensures that your phone and wireless charger are perfectly aligned. Apple and the WPC say that this perfect alignment increases wireless charging efficiency. In other words, less electricity is wasted, and you always get the fastest possible charging speed.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, MagSafe isn\u2019t just a charging standard. You can buy a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Apple-Leather-Wallet-MagSafe-iPhone\/dp\/B09G8TPS3V?tag=lsmedia-13690-20\">MagSafe wallet<\/a> and stick it to the back of your phone, for example, or slap your phone on a convenient <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Belkin-MagSafe-iPhone-Magnetically-Mounted\/dp\/B08LQVD6ZR?tag=lsmedia-13690-20\">MagSafe mount<\/a> while driving.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, Android users can enjoy the benefits of MagSafe. All you need is a MagSafe adapter, which may come in the form of a protective case or adhesive ring. They ensure that you get a strong, reliable, and properly-aligned connection with any MagSafe products.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I\u2019m partial to Peak Design\u2019s cases. Not only do Peak Design cases support MagSafe, but they work with Peak Design\u2019s excellent mounting system. Peak Design sells <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peakdesign.com\/products\/mobile-tripod?rfsn=2022804.774781&amp;subid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=rfs\">tripods<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peakdesign.com\/products\/out-front-bike-mount?rfsn=2022804.774781&amp;subid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=rfs\">bike mounts<\/a>, and other awesome accessories for these cases, and the addition of MagSafe is just icing on the cake.<\/p>\n<p>But if you\u2019d like something a little prettier (or better for photography), Moment\u2019s (M)Force cases might be the way to go. They\u2019re simple, rugged, and support MagSafe. They also work with a range of Moment <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shopmoment.com\/products\/cold-shoe-mount-for-magsafe\/\">photography accessories<\/a>, but unfortunately, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shopmoment.com\/shop?search=%28m%29force\">selection of (M)Force cases<\/a> is quite small.<\/p>\n<p>Note that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peakdesign.com\/collections\/mobile\/products\/universal-adapter?rfsn=2022804.774781&amp;subid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=rfs\">Peak Design<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shopmoment.com\/products\/moment-stick-on-adapter-for-magsafe\">Moment<\/a> also sell universal MagSafe adapters for Android phones. Both\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peakdesign.com\/collections\/mobile\/products\/universal-adapter?rfsn=2022804.774781&amp;subid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=rfs\">Peak Design<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shopmoment.com\/products\/moment-stick-on-adapter-for-magsafe\">Moment<\/a>\u00a0sell such adapters, but there are plenty of simple alternatives, such as the affordable and slim <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Compatible-Qi-Enabled-Wireless-Accessories-Versatile\/dp\/B096W7MLGN?tag=lsmedia-13690-20\">Mophie Snap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But these stick-on solutions can be a bit annoying. You need to align them with your phone\u2019s wireless charging coil, otherwise you\u2019ll run into problems when using wireless chargers. (Of course, the alignment doesn\u2019t matter if you don\u2019t care about wireless charging.)<\/p>\n<p>And, in my experience, metal rings like\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Compatible-Qi-Enabled-Wireless-Accessories-Versatile\/dp\/B096W7MLGN?tag=lsmedia-13690-20\">Mophie Snap<\/a>\u00a0can be a bit uncomfortable. They\u2019re thick enough to be noticeable, and their adhesive underside can be a magnet for lint, dust, and grime. That\u2019s why a MagSafe case is usually ideal.<\/p>\n<p>That said, if you don\u2019t mind fidgeting with an adhesive MagSafe adapter, it\u2019s worth the trouble. Well, not MagSafe, but the new <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/141362\/the-future-of-qi-wireless-charging-arrives-later-this-year\/\">Qi2 wireless charging standard. Announced at CES 2023, the Qi2 platform builds upon MagSafe and makes magnetism a core part of the wireless charging experience.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), MagSafe ensures a perfect alignment between phones and wireless chargers. This increases charging efficiency, and by extension, it opens the door to increases in charging speed. (Unfortunately, the WPC hasn\u2019t shared the maximum charging speed for Qi2 devices.)<\/p>\n<p>And like MagSafe, the Qi2 standard isn\u2019t just for charging. It will support a host of accessories, similar to the MagSafe accessories that are currently available for iPhone.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a patient person, you may want to skip the MagSafe adapters for now.
