According to James, Mashinsky\u2019s actions leading up to Celsius declaring bankruptcy contributed to investor losses by misrepresenting the platform\u2019s financial condition and failing to personally register as required by state law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the former CEO of Celsius, Alex Mashinsky promised to lead investors to financial freedom but led them down a path of financial ruin,\u201d said James. \u201cThe law is clear that making false and unsubstantiated promises and misleading investors is illegal.
