\n A California prosecutor ripped the \u201cGolden State Killer\u201d Joseph DeAngelo as the \u201cdefinition of a sociopath\u201d in releasing jailhouse videos that she says proves his \u201cfeeble old\u201d man demeanor was all an act.<\/p>\n

The newly released recordings from June and July show DeAngelo, 74, climbing on furniture in his cell, exercising in front of a mirror and easily bending over to put on his socks.<\/p>\n

The behavior is a far cry from DeAngelo\u2019s image in court, where he\u2019s app<\/a>eared frail, gaunt and hunched over-relying on a wheelchair to get in and out of the courtroom and a cane to walk, according to KCRA.<\/p>\n

Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said the videos prove DeAngelo \u2014 who pleaded guilty to a series<\/a> of rapes and murders that terrorized California in the 1970s and \u201980s \u2014 doesn\u2019t deserve sympathy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the last two years of court proceedings, many people have asked and wondered, really, who is Joseph DeAngelo?\u201d she said at a press conference last week following DeAngelo\u2019s sentencing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs he a feeble, old, 74-year-old man? Is he psychologically impaired? Is he physically impaired? Is he even competent to stand trial or to enter those guilty pleas we saw on June 29 when he rolled in here in a wheelchair and feigned feebleness?<\/p>\n

\u201cThe answer to those questions that so many people have wondered for the last two years lies within the definition of a sociopath.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeAngelo, a former police officer, was sentenced to 11 consecutive terms of life without parole for his murder spree \u2014 after being nabbed two years ago on DNA evidence.<\/p>\n

The recordings from inside DeAngelo\u2019s jail cell were released last week after a Sacramento County Superior Court judge denied a request from prosecutors to make them public, the Los Angeles Times reported.<\/p>\n

They argued that the videos contradicted DeAngelo\u2019s elderly portrayal that he was \u201cphysically unable to express remorse.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the judge didn\u2019t buy it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether or not he can stand up on his bunk or not stand up on his bunk is of little relevance,\u201d Judge Michael Bowman said at the time.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
