Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to all criminal charges against him, but former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison and FTX co-founder \u200b\u200bGary Wang reached plea deals with prosecutors in December, admitting to fraud at the company. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sam Bankman-Fried has arrived in court for his arraignment. We\u2019re told he will plead not guilty to all the charges against him. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yakSLkOus8\">pic.twitter.com\/yakSLkOus8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Connell McShane (@connellmcshane) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/connellmcshane\/status\/1610331276757684224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 3, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>It\u2019s unclear what role Singh may have played in the alleged criminal acts and regulatory violations at FTX Group. He was reportedly part of the \u2018wirefraud\u2019 chat group along with Ellison, Bankman-Fried and Wang, which allegedly discussed the illegal financial ties between FTX and Alameda. During his time at FTX, Singh lived in the Bahamas near other employees of the crypto firm. <\/p>\n<p>The case against Bankman-Fried is ongoing, with his criminal trial scheduled to begin on Oct. 2. On Jan. 4, the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Southern District of New York \u2014 where the FTX criminal cases are being handled \u2014 announced the formation of a task force to \u201ctrace and recover\u201d missing user funds as well as investigate matters related to the exchange\u2019s collapse. <\/p>\n<p>Part of the case against FTX and its executives were allegations the firm used assets from the crypto exchange to fund investments through Alameda Research without the consent or knowledge of users or investors. As part of her plea agreement, Ellison\u00a0said Alameda had access to a \u201cborrowing facility\u201d through FTX from 2019 to 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>FTX&#8217;s former top lawyer cooperated with the US in Sam Bankman-Fried case<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FTX Group filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 11. The company\u2019s bankruptcy proceedings in the District of Delaware are also ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for Jan. 11.
